This has turned crazy.
This has nothing to do with Trump.
Can we have one moment in 2018 that's not about Donald Trump?
Can we have one moment where someone who isn't Trump can be the targeted @$$h0|e Supreme?
Can we all just talk about how rude what Kanye did was rather than turning this into another "Trump Bad" thread?
We all know "Trump Bad." We KNOW and we're just about all in agreeance about that. It would be lugubrious to post "I love theatre!" in every single thread that has to do with theatre because the love of theatre is an implied thing between everyone on a Broadway message board. The same thing goes for disliking Donald Trump on a Broadway message board. We know, you know?

Kanye West is an ahole.
But Kanye West is also, more importantly, an artistic genius.
I'd be honored to have him at any artistic event I was a part of but I'd also be miffed if he texted through it.
I'm just... chiming in that Kanye West is a genius... and there are ahole genius in the theatre world as well (Arthur Laurents anyone? Ethel Merman anyone? Paging Patti LuPone!) and we love them/accept them as a mad genius (though that's debatable with Laurents).

As is your tradition, you ignore anything that doesn't suit your narrative. I provided a link to everyone complaining about Madonna doing it at Hamilton, so wouldn't that show your belief as this being related to Trump as untrue?
Also, there is no issue with an actor tweeting during a show... when they are not onstage.

Be thankful for someone not paying attention? Also, there’s a big difference from being atrocious in the audience and tweeting from backstage.

Most people who understand art beyond the small peephole of musical theatre would agree that Kanye West is an artistic genius. You can't listen to his earlier albums and not feel that.

I'm confused. Why, exactly, should Jarrod be thankful that Kanye was an invited guest who received a comp ticket to see his show? I'm assuming he's more appreciative of people who actually bought their tickets, and who don't use their phones.
