Can someone confirm this rumor to be true?
I would bet a serious amount of money that she will be doing this in Chicago
I know the day tickets went on sale for the general public in Chicago she retweeted a few tweets regarding it. So that might give a clue. I also heard a chance the rapper rumor and I've been hoping against all hope it's true.
It's spelled "Angelica."

She did indeed retweet a few things but when In the Heights went to London she also teased about that, tweeting something like 'I've always wanted to perform in London'. I wouldn't take it as proof just yet.
As for Chance the Rapper, that idea has already been dismissed I believe.
I do not understand how there is any incentive for Jeffrey Seller to ever hire either Chance, Karen Olivio or any other name in his hit musical since they are not going to work for minimum scale and any additional monies for salary would have to come out of his pocket.
The show will be sold out at top dollar with or without them so Mr. Seller can only lose money by putting anyone of note in his productions in New York or on the road for the next few years.
Something tells me Mr. Seller can afford it and it is not like Olivo is a household name or superstar. I don't even know who Chance the rapper is!

I don't know what world you live in but Karen Olivo is not by any stretch of the imagination a "name" who would ever sell tickets to anything. She would probably be placed on the same level of name recognition as BVD, who will be joining the Broadway production later this summer, if not lower since her partial 'retirement' from the stage has cut down her presence in the theatre world. What silly reasoning. I do agree with you RE: Chance, though. No way in hell that happens.
Aren't they going to record an album in a similar fashion FN did with Hollywood stars singing the music? Did they already record it? I hope chance is featured on that album.

Yes. The Hamilton Mixtape has been discussed at length and there is a wealth of information out there via a simple Google search. It is slated to be released later this fall, if I recall correctly.

That's very short-sighted and Seller is not that. First of all, the very idea that they would cast principals at or near the minimum is laughably naive. Secondly, far from taking money out of his pocket, such a strategy would be deleterious to the brand and end up costing the future value of the show greatly. As others have said, don't expect gimmicky star casting like Chance, but also don't expect folks culled from open calls in the principal roles of a first class production.
I guess I was right! Someone did tell me a while back about her joining. The rumors are true. Got my tickets too.
You bumped this to congratulate yourself and you couldn't even fix the spelling of her name?
I'm a winner. I know things.

Didn't she retire to go to Montana to make clay pots or something?

It was to focus on pottery in Madison, WI, and teach part-time at the nearby universities but you were close...
She is going to slay in this role! Glad to see her back!!

I cam see her in this role much more than Anita in the revival of West Side Story where she got the Tony. That was a dancer's role with singing. This is a singer's role with movement (not dancing).
She is much better at the singing, the biggest criticism of her on WSS was she couldn't do the required dancing, and she still got the Tony.
i think everyone will be "Satisfied".

If you had done any research you would know she moved to Madison, Wisconsin and is a part time professor at the university there and yes, has creative hobbies.
Amazing casting, of course she will be great in this!!!

That was already stated. Try reading more of the threads you respond in.
Perhaps Margo wisely has celebrity headbands blocked...
There's no info supporting it but I've always assumed the character was written for Olivo. And yes she will slay!!
