Selfishly sad that she is leaving acting (for however long, if not permanently), but wish her well in life.
Having seen “Murder Ballad” and, sitting in one of the tables that had me quite often two feet away from her, I can attest to the fact that she was absolutely giving it her all. I felt emotionally exhausted for her after the show. It was an amazing performance and I am happy I got to experience it and it’s a great one for her to end on.
It seems like she might have an idea what path she wants to take next (based off of her saying “If I wrote them down it would have been obvious to me what I was destined to do.”) – I wonder where life will take her next and wish her well in her journeys! I will cherish the cast recordings where we get to hear her beautiful voice!
Wow. I've heard Karen speak live and she is truly an incredible person. She was surely put under heat for missing so many WSS performances, but boy is she incredible. She even said that her voice professors at CCM didn't believe in her and didn't think she would be able to make it...a couple Broadway shows and a Tony award later everyone better believe she did. Best wishes to whatever she does next, but hopefully she'll return to acting at some point.

I wish her the best of luck on the new chapter of her life.
As much as many of you would like this to be about you, it is not. It has nothing to do with you. She really doesn't care about your opinion. She is leaving to repair herself and no BWW poster's advice is going to help or influence her.
Karen said she's sick of you making assumptions about her and about others as well as leaping to ridiculous conclusions based on your bizarre delusions. She does care about her fans, but she hates you and your attitude.

Thanks, Mister Matt. Agreed.
I wish her well wherever life takes her and am grateful for the work she's done. I've always thought she was wonderful. Godspeed, Karen.

SondheimFan - some actors "quit" the business after they get blacklisted for beatring the crap out of their girlfriends who go on to become powerful Broadway director/choreographers.
Interesting since the Playbill article states that they original cast will be reprising their roles in the new downtown staging.
Oh well.
This is a hard business and not everyone can keep up. I'm sad to see such a talented performer retire, but I'm glad that she gets to do it on her own terms.

I saw her in In the Heights and Murder Ballad and thought she was fantastic in both. I wish her well.
Rippedman-Karen said on her twitter that it was a mistake to include her. Then she posted this blog later in the day. I don't think it was coincidental for her to write this after that.
But, I wish her the best. Loved her in In The Heights, West Side Story, and Murder Ballad. I'm glad I got to see all three shows.
