I also trust Rob Marshall (which ever way he goes). He's not disappointed me so far.
I'm thrilled that NINE will have a third life!
All those female roles? Are you kidding? There will be at least one.
And didn't Mr. Marshall cast Mya........?
^ Mya was cast in an ensemble role. Mya is a trained dancer. And she was fine in the movie.

Exactly. She was great in her role, as a matter of fact.
I'm just saying wait and see. You can all jump down my throat if I'm wrong.
The score is practically an opera.
It's not happening in this film.
I vaguely remember Katie Holmes singing (and dancing a little?) in an opening number when she hosted SNL. I can't remember the song, but I think I remember being impressed. Anyone else have any recollection of this?
Shouldn't each woman be extraordinarily beautiful. All shapes and sizes but dazzling? That was my impression especially of the original Bway version.
They should all be dazzling indeed but not in the typical sense. That's why I hope they get a multi-cultural cast.
I think the original production used a more varied group of women than the revival though.
Is Katie considered dazzlingly beautiful?
Original production was as I said all shapes and sizes and all gorgeous.
Well, I personally don't consider Katie to be dazzling, she's not ugly but I don't find anything stunning about her the way I do with Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Marisa Tomei, Jane Krakowski, and the plethora of great women mentioned in the original NINE movie thread that was started a while ago.
I do think Demi Moore falls in that category though.
I like the idea of all shapes and sizes and hope Marshall goes that way. If you look at clips from the original production (or if you were lucky enough to see it), Glebb is right, the women were stunning and some were heavy, some looked quite old, and some were younger, but all were simply beautiful.
I think Katie is more 'girl next door.'
All I have to say is...this better be shot on location in Venice.
I don't want this to be a re-creation.
It should be lush and vibrant and gorgeous...just like the women.
I think Katie is more 'girl next door.'
If you live next to a mental hospital...
I'm a bit nervous about this movie though I do trust Marshall.
Well to her credit she sang "On My Own" almost 10 years ago, and people can improve......that said, I'd prefer that she not be in the film (mainly due to her husband vibe that I get when I think of her).
As for Demi Moore, I really don't care for her either, but would she be reading for Lillian LeFleur or would she be doing someone younger??????
In respone to Demi Moore singing or lack there or singing......
Not to bash her, because I love her on the 2 "Follies" and 2 "Nine" recordings that I have, but Lillian Montevecci wasn't know for her singing either.
The only role I can really picture Katie doing is the Lady of the Spa... not a lead but the little blurb does say "plum role" and this could be seen as one of those small but memorable type things.
