The rumor on ATC a few days ago was that they were looking to put it in The Neil Simon starting in July in order to facilitate as quick a turn around time as possible.
This production is absolutely glorious. If anything merits a Broadway transfer, it's this.

Posted: 5/13/09 at 5:21pmOh, I hope it does. I thought it was fantastic, and I don't know anyone who saw it who doesn't feel the same way. It's about time the best shows of the nineties were revived, and this is a particularly wonderful cast. Jennlee Shallow and Quentin Earl Darrington are going to be stars!

Posted: 5/13/09 at 5:28pmOh I would be so thrilled if it transferred. I love Ragtime and it deserves to be back on Broadway. And then maybe it can win Best Revival to partially make up for their loss to The Lion King, which still upsets me.

In JULY??? That would be AWESOME!
Jennlee Shallow is contracted to the new Cirque show but that's not till end of the year/next year so maybe she can still do it. Cause if she does, we have a new star! (in addition to Quentin and Christiane and i would hope Manoel could join back).
Seriously, saw this in DC and have been dying to see this again and again!

Posted: 5/13/09 at 5:46pmI desperately want this to be true. I adored this show on Broadway and find myself going back to the cast recording more than most. At the same time, I find it hard to believe that they'd take a risk on a revival so soon and in this market. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, though!

Posted: 5/13/09 at 5:50pmThat would make me so incredibly happy. I can't make it down to D.C., but NYC isn't a problem for me...and I love Christiane Noll.

But snce I couldn't go to it, I would be ecstatic if it would come to me!

Posted: 5/13/09 at 7:39pmI don't think orangeskittles was inferring that she HOPES they recast, but that they probably would because I'm sure some of the cast have conflicts, and they might want people with more experience for a Broadway run.

Posted: 5/13/09 at 9:28pmYes, RippedMan explained what I meant. I didn't mean it as a slight to any cast members, but since people were already excited for their favorites, I thought I should point out the unfortunate truth of a Broadway transfer.
