Is anyone going tonight? I'm excited to hear early reports.
Being the unlucky person I am, I lost the online ticket lottery... but I'll keep trying.

Posted: 7/23/14 at 12:10amThis is a Majestic LEAR. Just hot home, it was Three and a half hours tonight. Three and a half hours of the best Acting I've seen in a while. Lithgow is tremendous, kingly, funny, mad and ultimately heartbreaking. Bening is terrific but Jessica Hecht steals all the Sister scenes. Go see it. The cutest spear carriers in town, to boot. Bravo to all.

Posted: 7/28/14 at 12:38pmAnyone done the line lately? I don't mind sitting but what time have people been getting there? Don't want to get there at some incredibly early hour of the morning only to sit at the entrance alone for 3 hours.

Posted: 8/3/14 at 9:51pmBump -- hoping for the latest on how the line is? For Much Ado, we got there at 6:30AM and had no problem getting tickets, but this sounds like a hotter ticket. We're going this Saturday, and were thinking 5AM...

Posted: 8/3/14 at 10:20pmI, too, am wondering what the line is like. For both Into the Woods and Much Ado, I got there at 6 AM and had no trouble, but I went very early in the run for both. I'm planning on going Tuesday morning.

I saw tonight's performance. Won tickets through the virtual lottery after losing it almost daily this summer.
This is a fantastic production of King Lear. Fantastic. John Lithgow loses himself in the role and spirals into madness and heartbreak that is unbelievable to watch. Every word and movement was crafted so well, proving Lithgow to be a true legend of the stage. I found the three sisters to be excellent and thought that Jessica Hecht was particularly a stand out. The supporting cast was extremely strong, which fueled Lithgow's Lear into the masterpiece it was.
A major shout out to Daniel Sullivan's directing. I've liked his work in the past, but fell in love with that he did at the Delacorte tonight.
Side note -- two raccoons made an appearance in the first act by running upstage and waddling around the doors of the set. Very entertaining.

Posted: 8/4/14 at 1:03amI got on the standby line tonight at 7 and got a ticket at 8:02. It was front row center. Never sat there at the Delacorte. Amazing seat.

Posted: 8/4/14 at 12:54pmDid line last week. It's pretty easy. I went on Tuesday. By 830 900 am they stopped taking people in the line.

Posted: 8/5/14 at 1:20pmAnybody else enter the Virtual Lotto this morning (Tuesday, August 5) and submit the form, but go to check at 12:00 and find that they are no longer offering it today? It makes sense since this is their opening night, but when I entered at 9:00 it was clear that they were going to offer it, but perhaps changed their minds / no longer had available tickets.

Posted: 8/5/14 at 1:47pmI read the other day that they were not going to offer virtual lotto... I won on Sunday, however, and loved the production. John Lithgow did a great job of balancing out the drama with some subtle comedy. Jessica Hecht as Regan was also a standout for me. I sat fairly close and was so impressed by the way she stood absolutely still when she wasn't delivering a line. The rest of the cast was pretty great, as well.

Posted: 8/7/14 at 10:22pmGetting in line Saturday...thoughts on how early to get in line to secure tickets? Considering the reviews, I can't imagine it's going to be much worse the previous weekends.

Posted: 8/8/14 at 4:04pmPlanning on going on Saturday sounds like being at the park by 6 is a safe bet.

Posted: 8/8/14 at 5:18pmthere are no safe bets but 6 on a weekend with no rain in the forecast certainly isn't inherently safe.
