Fantastic for Kinky Boots! 2000 shows is a stunning length of run in this modern era of many successful shows, even tony winners, going out in 2 or 2.5 years at 1000 shows or less.

The only show from the 2010's with a longer run is The Book Of Mormon (Hamilton will surpass Kinky ultimately, Beautiful and Alladin likely will, and Dear Evan Hansen could enjoy that length of run, which is really really strong company).

Have always thought Kinky Boots is underrated.  It's now surpassed other legendary shows and favs of  mine including South Pacific, Pippin, The King & I,  and How To Succeed.

What do you think are the main reasons for Kinky Boots longevity?

1. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical.

2. It has an accessible pop score and heartfelt story to make for easy watching and easy to comfortably recommend to others.

3. They have had some good casting and stunt casting decisions to inject life in the show in potential low points.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

It's become one of my favorite shows.

If Cyndi Lauper's name wasn't attached to it, I think it would have closed some time ago. I love her score and I think, speaking broadly here, her talents as a song writer are incredibly underrated.

It has a combination of a good score, a touching and uplifting storyline, fun choreography, and Lola and Charlie have become coveted roles that many actors want to tackle. They've also cast smartly. I saw it twice with Stark Sands/Billy Porter and recently saw it with Jake Shears/J. Harrison Ghee. J. Harrison Ghee was absolutely mindblowing as Lola. Very different from Billy Porter, but just as good.

I’ve been obsessed with “soul of a man” lately. And when they did “just pee” I was hooked onto “just be.” I think they’ve done a marvelous job stunt casting this show. They haven’t really lost the integrity in the same way as Chicago

I’ve seen the show several times now and every time, i get more emotionally connected to the material. That final number would make even the grumpiest grump swoon

I agree. It's the closest any show has successfully come to closing out a show with a rousing bang since 'You Can't Stop The Beat' from HAIRSPRAY (which is arguably the most uplifting ending to a Broadway show).

This show has definitely grown on me as well. I've seen it multiple times on Broadway, Toronto and on tour. It's a perfect blend of a kick-ass score and central characters whom you care about and root for.
