Know any musicals with a lot of banjo??

As you might already know, I would love to be a pit musician on Broadway and I play guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and keyboards. But I'm very crazy about Broadway musicals that have a lot of banjo!!

I already know that these musicals have a lot of banjo in them:
Chicago
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Anything Goes
Monty Python's Spamalot
Avenue Q
Annie

Could anyone name me some musicals that have a lot of banjo in them? I'm just crazy about them!

I mean 4-string banjo, as in the kind you'd find in a Dixieland jazz band. That's what I'm crazy about.

Show Boat has one throughout the score, although many productions don't tend to use it.

Hal Prince's last revival did, and it was great.

I don't think Crazy for You does... But, doesn't Assassins? At least in the new recording, I think it does.

Godspell - banjo work in "All For The Best"

You might want to look into the off-Broadway musical "Almost Heaven" about John Denver.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I think there is some banjo work in the song "Freedom" and possibly in "Why Am I Me" and maybe "Over The Hill". Now I have to go and listen to the cast recording.

Well since Smoke on the Mountain was mentioned I guess I can also toss in its sequel Sanders Family Christmas.

...I played Rev.Oglethorpe in both shows on several occasions so I am quite acquainted with the banjo in both shows!

I believe Wicked uses a banjo during at least on a couple of songs...I apologize if this is not the correct type of banjo that you specified.

The Boyfriend, Irene and 70, Girls, 70 all feature extensive banjo work.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
