The second of New York City Center’s Encores! Summer Stars series, Damn Yankees is the story of ultimate baseball fan Joe Boyd, who sells his soul to the Devil (Sean Hayes) for the chance to help his team, the Washington Senators, win the pennant race against the Yankees. The Devil is aided by the sexy Lola (Jane Krakowski), who seduces Joe, but ultimately helps him outsmart the Devil and return to his beloved wife. Songs include "Heart" and "Whatever Lola Wants.”
SWEEET!!!!! Perfect casting. Couldn't be more excited! I am so there.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

wonder if this might head to Broadway. Spring 2009??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
And if it does, I'm guessing she would want to reprise her Olivier Award winning performance in GUYS & DOLLS before doing Lola in DAMN YANKEES.

Laughter is much more important than applause. Applause is almost a duty. Laughter is a reward.
Carol Channing
Urinetown's Tony-winning director John Rando will helm the production, which will feature choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by Rob Berman.

out of curiousity, do these Encores ever have Rush or promo discounts? And how fully staged are they? Or are they just singing like a concert with a bit of staging?
The Summer Encore production of DAMN YANKEES will be staged like a Broadway show..meaning the actors wont be holding books. It will also have scenery, costumes and chreography ...exactly like a Broadway show....its just Encores always have a full-orchestra.
