im sure there are a million threads for this but i didnt see any so...
KELLI, KERRY, PATTI, JENNA, or FAITH?!!
Patti has it in the bag. Her toughest competition is Kelli, but Patti is a lock.
I truly believe that Patti's name is already on the award.

If anyone besides Patti wins, she'll run up to the stage, wrench the award out of the presenter's hands, and flee to L.A.

In any race wehre someone is a "lock", a dark horse starts building up steam. The question is always whether the dark horse builds up enough in time.
Last year, Christine Ebersole was a "lock", but there was a lot of talk around Audra McDonald. (I know, now it seems silly.) Also last year, dark horse David Hyde Pierce took it away from "lock" Raul Esparza.
I fear everyone thinking Patti is going to get it, so they vote for Kelli O'Hara.
Patti does not have in the bag and is not a lock, Kelli is fierce competition and will very likely take it from her
Patti was unbelievable - no doubt about it.
But I'd hate to jinx it by calling it a "lock" -- I was shocked when Raul didn't win!
I hear Kelli is beyond great, so we'll see...
I never thought Raul was a "lock" for the win last year. I saw it as a tough competition between he and Hyde Pierce, with Hyde Pierce squeaking out the win.
And had I voted, I would have cast my vote for Hyde Pierce.
And back to the topic at hand, I'd cast my vote for LuPone.

I'm just so, so soooo happy that Kerry Butler is finally nominated for a Tony, especially after the Hairspray snub. I know she won't win, but it's just so great she is nominated.
And I think it's definitely between Kelli and Patti. I'm cheering for both, although I'd like to see the Tonys recognize new and more upcoming talent.

I'd have to say Miss Patti is taking this one home. And if not, I'll be sitting next to her at the awards, so I'll provide her with stress balls, kleenex, etc, etc, etc.

I second Idinster :)
In my ideal world where I rule everything, Jenna Russell would win, but that's will probably never happen.

When I was basing my opinions on the City Center production, I thought Jenna would be the winner too.
But daaaaaaamn, Patti's got the stuff....

RyToast1, you'll be sitting next to Patti?
(and Audra did have the best chance of the other actresses in that category at taking it from Christine, but after all that steam, she would still lose...in another year, she would have won)

Hah. Same. I'm so happy that she got nominated though.
Wasn't Patti a lock two years ago? I'm just saying......

Honestly, I think Patti is a horrible performer, who was good early on in like..Sunset Blvd...but after Les Mis, it was all downhill for her..., but I think she was nominated because of who she is.
I think it'll be either Kelli O'Hara or Jenna Russell, although I kinda want Kerry Butler to come in and surprise everyone. That would be a Tony surprise I can stomach. lol

I don't want to get involved in the actual argument in this thread, but I must point out that your chronology is a little off here. Sunset was 1993. Les Mis was 1985.
