LMM and the Clinton campaign are giving us a chance to win 2 tickets to see Hamilton. Just the description alone is witty enough that you keep reading it. This came today in a new email...

There is a link but I was trying to be PC in this thread, but since you've asked, it's a fund raising performance on July 12th.

 

But they are giving away 2 tickets, hotel, and airfare...you don't need to contribute but you can, even $1 or $3 or $5...Good luck

I'm not sure on equity rules, but they cannot be forced to donate their time/performance.

The Hillary Clinton Fund bought out the performance, which is a 9th added performance, so presumedly the fund is paying those extra expenses for the cast/crew.

This news item serves to reaffirm the truth of that lyric in Fade Out-Fade In (as if it needs reaffirmation): "There's always one step further down you can go."

Something tells me we will see further reaffirmation of the same in this opus's news items of tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and every day after that.

No I understand your point, but it still presents certain political views in positive and negative lights. I'm not just talking about the story either, Obama has already held a DNC fundraiser there and Leslie made an appearance in costume (alongside Hillary) at an event for the Democratic party, so it's obvious which side the show is on already. I don't necessarily see this as the show trying to convince anyone anyway.

Considering the only other candidate with a shot at winning is DONALD TRUMP, I do not blame them at all for this. I'm sure the cast and crew all agreed to do this, and were not forced into it.

The show has hosted the President multiple times and raised money for the DNC before. This isn't a new thing. And this fundraiser is literally just a creative way for rich people to donate to the Hillary campaign. It really isn't trying to convince anyone to vote for her like aaaaaa15 lol.

Why? If your employer held a fundraiser at your job for a politician you weren't voting for, you'd still do your job, wouldn't you?

The majority of people I know (in the arts and in other careers) hate both major candidates and are exploring 3rd party candidates. 

In response to Jordan....let's say I'm a Hamilton cast member and I don't agree with whom my producers are supporting politically. There's nothing wrong with calling out one day if I feel my principles are being compromised by being in that performance.
