So the question is, are these reveiws good enough to get that coveted forth spot?
I think so, I certainly hope so.
they haven't given out the 1st 2nd or 3rd slot yet, lets not jump ahead of ourselves.
LoveMusik has had average reviews so far(love the performances not to keen on the show). The reviews For Legally Blonde were about the same(if not a bit better by some papers)
So who knows
All i know is people predicted how this show was gonna be the BIG show of the season what the critics would love and well the critics so far aint giving out lots of love
Predictions are usually wrong
I think, so far, the general consensus is mixed-positive.
I would say just mixed
positive for the performances , and as we know them alone cant keep a show open
Well, the show is a limited run, so I don't think keeping the show open is the issue.

I never predicted it to be the big show of the season, and I haven't seen a lot a people saying that. I think people thought it had a lot of potential, and people were certainly excited, but GG and SA have stolen a lot of thunder. Not a lot left for LM. In a different season, it could have been something really big. I'm hoping the BM nominations will be GG, SA, LM, and C.
yah, that lady was actually the same one that said she'd be surprised if it didn't win Best Musical, so she obviously didn't mind that the music doesn't further the plot.
wizard, it has been published that they are trying to transfer this from the Biltmore for a commercial run. That's what songanddanceman meant by "keeping the show open". Personally, I will be surprised if this doesn't get nominated, even though I didn't love it. I think the 4th spot is between Legally Blonde and Curtains, hopefully going to the former.

sorry wasn't meaning you said it could be the biggest show of the season XXxx
Thanks BJH
I thought i had miheard that it was looking to transfer for a longer run
yeah i think it's going to be LoveMusik, Curtains, Spring Awakening & Grey Gardens.
Oh. Never mind then. Though, I don't know why they would want to transfer the show, even if it DID get raves. It would most likely wouldn't do well.
I'm not sure about this getting a nom, though. I think the last spot is up for grabs between Lovemusik/Fame Becomes Me/Legally Blonde.
WonderfulWizard, unfortunately, as much as I had a great time at Fame Becomes Me, I don't think it will be remembered save perhaps for Martin Short's performance.
If we have three "artsy" nominations (LM, SA, GG), it makes it a lot easier for the fourth contender, whether that's Curtains or Legally Blonde...
The race is still wide open...
judging of these reviews i think it will get actor/actress noms but not sure about show noms
but hey who knows
NYT is up! Not good and follows the pattern of all the others: Great Performances ("unmissable, in fact), but sluggish and tedious overall:
Two luminous, life-infused portraits glow from within a dim, heavy frame at the Biltmore Theater, where “LoveMusik” opened last night. This bio-musical about the marital and professional relationship of the German-born composer Kurt Weill and the actress Lotte Lenya, directed by Harold Prince, is sluggish, tedious and (hold your breath) unmissable — at least for anyone who cherishes stars who mold songs into thrilling windows of revelation.

It was already posted, Bobby.
Fame Becomes Me? Best Musical? You can't be serious.
Based on these reviews I wouldn't bet on LM getting a nom, however, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to give Prince a little love.

As much as I like the show, cast, and creative team, I think LoveMusik should close as a limited run. I think it would have a near-to-impossible time finding an audience, if it went to an open run.
i love love LOVE that drip from Word of Mouth who goes on about how the German Accents were the worst part
Ugh, I keep going back and forth between seeing this and 110 in the shade... I'm more into risky, artsy musicals, but people seemed to have liked 110 better.
Damn, I was so excited about this show, I thought it would be fab!

well, I guess I'm a little disappointed with the reviews, since I saw the show and loved it. the good news is the best aspects of the show, Cerveris and Murphy, are obviously present most of the time. I still think it's worth seeing for them alone, and for those who love Weill's music. there's such an enormous chemistry between Cerveris and Murphy, and their performances are so fine-tuned but still emotionally engaging and urgent, that I think they elevate the show to an EVENT.

I said Fame Becomes Me because it got roughly the same type of reviews Musik and Blonde did. However, I do realize that it most likely closed too early and won't be remembered.
I'd like the Best Musical nominees to be GREY GARDENS, SPRING AWAKENING, FAME BECOMES ME, and LOVEMUSIK. They are easily the four Best Musicals of the season.
