Does anyone know why the La Cage matinee starts at 2:30 instead of 2?
Douglas Hodge was out today---I exchanged our tix for a future date---I really want to see his performance.

Who was his understudy? Chris Hoch?

I saw him Saturday night, the night before the Tonys, and you could tell the energy of both the performers and the crowd made the performance special. He was great, m Updated On: 6/16/10 at 08:58 PM

not sure why it's at 2:30, but Chicago's matinees have been at 2:30 for a while now. I think it offers people who are running a little late to grab tickets.

I'm also curious as to who went on, Hodge's voice did sound scratchy at the Tony's.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Most London shows have 2:30 matinees, which is probably the case here.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I think the Weissler's came up with the schedule, pricing, rush, etc. All of it resembles CHICAGO. They are smart when it comes to that stuff.

The thinking is that tourists who get to the TKTS line at 1:45 thinking they'll get tickets for one of the sold-out hit shows will see that they have an extra 1/2 hour and get a ticket to one of the 2:30 shows.

Saw the 2:30 show yesterday, Dale Hensley was on for Albin. Don't have time for a full review, and I haven't seen Douglas Hodge (except for on the Tonys), but Hensley was great. The whole cast seemed so excited to have him go on for the first time. The show had great energy.
