Loved La Reve as well- but no one mentioned Love- the Beatles Cirque show- it is really good- I highly recommend it.

KA just pips La Reve for me, but it's very close. They are my 2 faves, with Absinthe being a very close third. They are all brilliant. I went last Feb and thought the few changes to La Reve certainly made it better, but the Love changes made it a little less enjoyable than prior visits.

I think all the Cirques are great apart from 'O' which is is so huge and has so much going on that I felt I constantly was missing stuff and even then it still somehow managed to be boring.

I'd also highly recommend the James Cameron World's Apart Cirque film. It is literally the best acts from each Vegas show and the 3D is really great so it's just like being there.

A group of friends are going to see Gaga and I have a late show slot open on Friday February 1st.  Can't decide what to see.  We're staying at the Luxor.  I've seen 'O' and  Kà and enjoyed both although I could have done without the clowns.  I think our friends want to stay close to the hotel as walking or driving on the strip can take too much time.  Would like to see a "theatre" show but I don't know if any are playing.  What would you recommend?

La Reve is the one to see for spectacle or Absinthe for great acts and comedy. La Reve is right down the other end of the strip at the Wynn or Absinthe is about halfway down at Caesars. The monorail will get you down there (from MGM right across the road from Luxor) in 5 mins to the Flamingo and then a 5 minute walk to Caesars or 10-15 minute walk to the Wynn. Or you could just cab it and they'll take you the back way down the freeway to the Wynn which is about 10 minutes.

The Michael Jackson Cirque is next door at Mandalay Bay. It's great but I'd still make the effort to go to the others over it. DON'T see Zumanity, it is the lowest level Cirque.

I also stayed at Luxor. As an aside I had some free time and there was a discount coupon in my room for the Titanic exhibit at Luxor. Youd have more fun wasting your money at a slot machine. Its a very small third-rate museum-style exhibit clearly designed for the tourist crowd. You walk through the familiar story, from construction to sinking. A couple room recreations and lots and lots of recovered teacups, combs, and small personal items. The only interesting artifact is The Big Piece, a gigantic section of the hull allegedly very near where the berg gashed the ship. Dont bother seeing this. If youre interested inTitanic lore you wont learn anything new. If youre not youll be wishing you spent the time watching the Cameron film.

Another aside: if you are a man in need of a haircut I can highly recommend a young man named Kevin at The Art of Shaving at The Shoppes at Mandalay next door. I was apprehensive given his age but did need a trim and wow, probably the best cut Ive ever gotten plus all the extras of hot towel, scalp massage, etc. Im trying to figure out how to visit Vegas once a month for a haircut! LOL

I understand and my buddy sort of felt the same way. I don’t mind spoilers before shows and am fascinated by stagecraft so I’m fine with the screens. The other thing I wanted to mention for those considering the seats is the screens themselves are not very bright and are mostly in black and white given the darkened places they are taping. The result is they are not distracting and one could easily watch the entire live show without being distracted by the screens. (They’re slightly larger than an iPad.)

If you're into magic, there are also some early slots you can fill. I'm going at the end of the month for a four show day:

1p Mac King comedy magic show at Harrahs
4p David Copperfield at MGM Grand
7p Cirque Love (revisit)
9:30p Cirque O (revisit)

I saw Absinthe in July and absolutely hated it. It's full of so much low brow humour and overdone sexist and racist stereotypes that it was painful to sit through. The hosts acted like little boys competing for who can say penis more times. The acrobatic/circus acts were mediocre at best. But some of my friends thought it was hilarious so I guess it's a matter of opinion? Also, if you have even an inkling of claustrophobia, skip it, or spring for the front row seats, where you're likely to either get wet or picked on by the performers. They're trying to be eclectic with mismatched chairs squeezed together, but it was extremely uncomfortable. I'm 5'5", yet my knees were digging into the ass of the guy in front of me, plus my thighs were squished between the thighs of the people on either side of me (all 3 of us on the leaner side). How the hell did anyone taller/bigger than me fit in those seats? I was with a group and initially I was sitting in the middle of the row but I ended up switching seats with a friend who had an aisle seat as I was worried that I'd have a panic attack from the lack of personal space - I should point out that I see a huge number of concerts and live theatre and have never come close to a panic attack at a show before, including the times I got trapped in mosh pits at rock concerts. That's how uncomfortable it was. I really wish that I had spent my money on something else but it was a friend's birthday and he really wanted to see it.

With JERSEY BOYS ending its run last year it appears that no Broadway shows are currently slotted to run in full-length or "tab" versions at the current time, but I would love to see KONG in a theatre in Vegas - in a shortened version.  It could be even more spectacular than the current NYC production.

Also, call me perverse (many have) but I would have loved to have seen the train-wreck called MARILYN THE MUSICAL which briefly played Paris LV last summer.  The "revised" version due late in 2018 never materialized and I'm assuming that it is dead in the water.  Probably best for all concerned.

I went on a family trip last October and we saw Love. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but I really enjoyed this (my second time in maybe 6 years). If you're not big on Cirque's clowns, this one is relatively minimal. The theatre was about 75% full, so I bet it's on TodayTix or at those Tix4Tonight booths. (One of my relatives treated us, and I'm not sure where he got them.)

If you want to venture off-Strip, head to District One in Chinatown and get some amazing Vietnamese food.

So here are some DIFFERENT suggestions, because you should already add LE REVE, PENN AND TELLER, and ABSINTHE to your list.

Nathan Burton Comedy Magic. I was SO impressed. And Ive already seen all the shows youve seen, plus the ones mentioned above.

Burton was the best magician I saw in Vegas, aside from P and T of course. He was charming, and impressive and creative.

I saw Chris Angel believe at the Luxor and I was impressed. I wonder how his new show at PH is.

I second Nathan Burton.  I have seen his show twice and really enjoyed it.  Plus he usually has a 4pm show.  Also unless things have changed greatly since the last time I saw him (two years ago), I was able to get a ticket for less than $12 each time I  saw him.  You can really find some great discounts for shows, if you do the research.  In addition for touristy interests, I recommend the Mob Museum and the Neon Museum, both are located in old Downtown Las Vegas.  The Neon Museum is an outside museum where all the old Las Vegas hotel signs are put to pasture.  Some people like to go at night where a couple of the signs are lit up.  I went during the day and enjoyed it with great pictures.

I saw Matt Franco (Linx) and he was pretty good. I keep missing Angel cos is shows are on at weird times.

I thought the Copperfield show was awful tho.

I shall have to check out Burton next trip.

It is leaps and bounds beyond O.

Agreed.  Unfortunately, I saw Le Reve the night before I saw O and that was a huge mistake.  O seemed slow and boring by comparison.  I thought LOVE was a brilliant departure from the normal Cirque fare.  Haven't seen Ka yet, but I plan on it for my next Vegas trip.

I SO want to see King Kong transfer to Vegas.  As I posted in the "Is Kong In Trouble?" chat, cut the Broadway production down to a tab version, up the spectacle even more (using a Vegas budget), promote the hell out of it and watch the tourists pour in.  If Phantom: The Spectacle can run at Paris LV for many years, then why not Kong?  I want to see the Big Guy tear up The Strip.  Por favor, Baby Haysus.

It would fit well at New York New York! LOL Move out Zumanity and re-do the theater. They could also add a KK mannequin to the Empire State Building tower on the hotel's architecture.

If racism and sexism and giggling every time someone says penis and no personal space are your idea of fun, then I guess I'm the opposite of fun. And I'm good with that.

Now I'm going to go talk to someone who doesn't make fun of my claustrophobia.

My favorite Cirque show on the Strip is Love and least favorite is KA. I've seen Zumanity and O as well. I do want to see the Michael Jackson show at some point.

I also really like Le Reve but I think I saw it 7-8 years ago so sounds like time for a revisit.

Honestly one of my favorite shows is anything playing at The Colosseum at Caesars. The acoustics in there are amazing. I've seen both Celine and Elton perform there and neither disappointed. I'm bummed I never got to see Shania there.

I also like to see the free tourist stuff at the different hotels. I could stand in front of the Bellagio and watch those fountains all night. And they often play Broadway tunes.

I periodically check about Las Vegas shows reopening and to my surprise a handful of shows are reopening, starting the end of this month.  They are reducing the number of tickets sold and distancing from the stage.   Based on the Vegas4Locals ebay website, I think a few smaller shows have already opened (comedy shows).  I hope this continues safely.  I had to cancel a trip this year and really want to return in 2021.

Has there been an official announcement about any shows reopening? I ask because I was there the week before Labor Day and checked the ticketing websites just out of curiosity (I knew no shows would be open the week I was there). Several shows appeared to be selling tickets for late September, but the folks I know who are there in Vegas and work on them told me they probably hadn't updated the sites from the original announcements because they had not received any notice about returning to work. And obviously those late September dates came and went without any of those shows actually resuming performances.

When I did my general periodic search, last night, there was an article stating which ones.  Off the top of my head was Absinthe, David Copperfield, X Country, CarrotTop, Jabbawockeez, Australian stripper show Thunder From Down Under, Australian Bee Gees, strip show Fantasy and Brad Garrett Comedy Room.  It's a start.
