Lea Michele named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2010 — Page 2

The character Lea Michele embodies on The Fox News Television Program, GLEE is one of the most amazing, influential and strong willed WOMYN on the air right now. She is living proof that no matter who you are, what age, color, sexual orientation, etc. YOU are the one who ultimately has the power over your own happiness and destiny. She is the reason so many young people today are alive and have given doing away with themselves a second thought.

Before you judge her take a look at the pure scope and magnitude of what she's accomplished since this show has started and I think you'll see that any petty comments you have about her not deserving her place on that list are wrong, ill informed and most importantly bigoted.

Exactly, legallysam.

I guarantee that if you ask your average person (provided they do not watch Glee) who Lea Michele is, they will have no idea.
Who is Recep Tayyip Erdogan? Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan? Manmohan Singh? The average person would recognize "Rachel from Glee" before any of those names.


I don't see that as "influential."
Please explain how Didier Drogba and JT Wang have influenced your life over the past year. Now, have you ever watched Glee? Bought the DVD, CDs or any of the tracks on iTunes? Congratulations, you've been influenced by Lea Michele.

Jesus people, it's a magazine popularity contest, not a Nobel prize.

Yeah, Lea Michele is a young, pretty, skinny woman -- kudos to her for making a statement by becoming a TV star!

Oh, another thing:

How about Chris Colfer? He's kind of become the heart of the show, and he was never even intended to be one of the break out stars like Lea was!

Plus, how often do we see strong, confident gay teenage characters on TV? Not too often! PLUS the fact that he's publicly out himself at 19 years old is pretty darn awesome. He probably really is quite inspiring to a LOT of young gay people :)

And again, part of what I find so impressive about him is that he kind of came out of nowhere and became one of the fan favorites of the show on sheer talent alone. Heck, there never even WAS a Kurt character until Chris auditioned!


So yeah, I'd think if we're saying Lea deserves it because Rachel is a positive role model for young kids (which is true), and Ryan Murphy for the show over all wasn't an option for whatever reason, Chris deserves it just as much, if not more so, as Lea

Um yes. Truly bizarre. Well, I guess that in this celebrity-obsessed culture. She is an first-time TV actress in an ensemble cast in its second season. She's got very little to do with its influence besides being lovely on the show.

Her CHARACTER may be influential, but she seems like she has a stick shoved up her butt in every non-production photo of her that I've seen.

Lea Michele? Influential? More like LA's 100 Most Persistent Publicists of 2010...

If they're going to feature somebody from Glee, why the hell not Jane Lynch?! I'd venture that she's one of the most talented comedic actresses working today.
