I don't believe he even worked with her. You could have stated the show and not gotten into details.

Just a fan here, and I for one would love to see Lea in "Funny Girl". In fact, I think so would millions of others, a sure fire hit if ever there was one.
ChenoKahn,
I've been a part of these boards for years and have nothing to prove to you.
If you don't believe me, that's fine. Because I don't really care what you think.
That is lovely. Maybe you are the tool not her. Who is happy when someone cries?
I have less confidence in Marti Noxon than I do in say Tim Minear or David Fury, but she can only help improve the quality of the storytelling. Noxon's done some questionable work post-Buffy, though.
Imagine what Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies) could do for Glee. Wow.
Bryan is too creative for Glee in my opinion. I LOVE Pushing Daisies. Still bitter it was cancelled.

It would be great if Brittany stayed around too; they could easily have her need to repeat grades!

Tim Minear has does some iffy work too (though he did showrun both later Angel and Firefly really well), but I'll take what I can get.
I don't blame the poster for not declaring what show he worked on with Lea. He's still working in the field and would like to continue to do so.
To be fair to the posters here: not too many liked her before she became gleekified. She was not a fan favorite when she was in Spring Awakening.
Cheno....if you've only been here for two weeks, how could you make generalities of the posters here? Are some people harsh? Yup. Are some people overly opinionated? Yup. Are there people here that go overboard? Sure, but if everyone here loved everthing and everybody, there would be no discussions.
As far as Funny Girl? I think she would be all edge and we wouldn't fall in love with her as we should.
You realize I could go to search or recently decided to make an account because I wanted to state my opinions. I could have read Broadway World before. Just because you have been a member far longer doesn't mean you know more and are better. I have heard you do that a lot.
I can see how my post made you think that. Ok. I never said I was better or implied you were "lesser". In any way. I stated my opinion and gave my reasons why. Plain and simple.
If you read your post it comes off that way. I read on the boards you do this often.
I don't even understand why people wouldn't want her in FUNNY GIRL. What exactly is wrong with that voice?
Because the voice isn't all you need.
I'm not obsessed with Lea but I think she is talented for sure. As far as Fanny I haven't made my mind up yet.
Of course she's s tool, Diva. I'd be disappointed if she weren't.
But yes or no: Is she also undeniably talented?
I work with talented people every day.
The nice one's make it a pleasure.
Cheno,
Enough people on this board have actually met me in person to know that what I post is true. Everyone else who tries to make me out to be a liar, has never met me. You can try all you want to, but you aren't going to get under my skin.
As much as I love her, I really hope she isn't in Funny Girl's revival. Glee's tried too often to make her into either Idina Menzel or Barbara Streisand and it's starting to annoy me.
It comes off that way? Only because you want it to. I was actually trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you just didn't know things about this board BECAUSE you were new. If you look for attitude it will certainly exist.
One person makes a comment on one other thread and you've made up your mind about me....that's nice. But that really says more about you than me.

ChenoKahn,
I will tell you, firsthand, I have known Diva - in person - for over 7 years. He is anything BUT a tool. He has, in fact, worked DIRECTLY on a project with Ms. Michele. He has, in fact, worked directly with a large number of people and show that people on this board s#!t themselves with love over on a DAILY basis at venues that people give a left arm to work at and he is damn great at what he does.
Yes, Lea Michele IS a tool. It has NOTHING to do with her being famous and EVERYTHING to do with her be self important, conceited B&#@h. I know the story Diva speaks of and I have been a direct witness to more than a share of incidents where she proven herself to be less than a lovely person. No, not at stage doors. No, it has nothing to do with "Glee" because I saw her behaving like the star she fancies herself to be as far back as 2005 when all she was 'known' for was being the Little Girl in Ragtime (which she never let's ANYONE forget) and being the third daughter from the left in the Fiddler revival.
No, she shouldn't be Fanny. If you think Lea can sing, fine, but fanny was a Class A comedienne and Lea Michele can NOT play comedy.. especially in front of a live audience.
ChenoKahn is clearly a fictitious character, saying things to get a reaction for his own amusement. Pay him no heed.
I don't know what Lea Michele is like in person, but that really counts for nothing as far as stardom goes. I think she has the potential to shape a fine Fanny Brice...as things stand now, okay maybe she's not ideal for the role - but it's a bit harsh to judge her on a role she hasn't done any work on, I think.

This is sort of sickening to read. And it drips of envy.

Because, clearly, the only people that are B#$@hs are the people we envy...
Fanny needs to play comedy. Lea is awful at comedy. Zero Mostel would be a more appropriate choice for Fanny.
I can't believe I'm gonna leap to TheatreDiva's defense but he is legit and probably worked with her (I'm thinking Hollywood Bowl as he is based in LA)!
I enjoy Lea. I think she's very gifted! And I do think fame is something that can easily destroy or change you.
That said, that's not the case here!
There seemed to be a sense Lea was difficult even when she was a nobody. Let's face it, All of us have a cousin. co-worker, brother - who is simply:
A PAIN IN THE ASS!!
You don't have to be famous to be one.
Lea is said to fit that moniker - even when she was studying Algebra in Junior High.
It's not bad. It's not good. It just is!
I never really understood the whole 'YOU'RE ALL JUST JEALOUS' retort. I suppose some people don't like her because of their own shattered dreams.
But then there are people who just... don't like her.
I don't like her because of how she has treated my close friends who have worked with her. And no, I won't expound on that.
Yes, she is talented. But she is not unique in her talent. And there are scores of people just as talented who are lovely people to work with, and I'd rather they got the work.
