Les Mis Song in TV Commercial?

Is it just me, or does the music in the last half of this recent KFC commercial sound exactly like "Look Down" from Les Mis?

Yeah no. Doesn't it need to be like 7 consecutive notes for it to break copyright? It's not that similar.

This may sound silly, but what if the Les Mis producers paid for this as some sort of discreet advertising? I doubt it, but just throwing it out there.

Yes, every time I go to KFC I think of Les Mis. I totally see the connection. This was ingenious.

My parents and I thought we were hearing things due to my obsession with LES MIZ LOL I made no connection or thought anything of it besides the fact I thought it soundeed like it.

I think the blank specific notes thing is a myth. I don't think that's how plagiarism of a song is decided. That said, no one is going to get sued over this.

And the interval between "look" and "down" isn't the same as in the commercial, anyway. So there are almost no identical consecutive notes.

Very similar but I doubt it's deliberate. It's a fried chicken commercial, there's no reason to rip off 'Look Down' for it. Now, if it was a bread commercial...

"I stole a bucket of extra-crispy and a side of slaaaaaaaaaaaw..."

Before I opened this, I already knew exactly what you were talking about.

Here I was, thinking I was the only one hearing it every time that commercial comes on.
