I've only heard Bruno sing "On My Own" on the site we cannot mention here, but it was probably the worst rendition of the song that I've ever heard. They will probably promote from the inside, but I think the best choice for the role is Brooke Sunny Moriber (
The Wild Party,
The Threepenny Opera). I have no idea if it's true or not, but I heard that she auditioned for the part during the initial process. She'd be amazing. (And, she also played Young Cosette and Eponine during the first run of the show. It could be a fun story, a la Lea Michele.)
I'm extremely happy for Bob Hunt. I did a play with him years ago and he's such a sweet, genuinely talented person.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
