The only musicals I can think of with lesbian characters in it are Rent and Falsettoland.

Anyone know of others?

My Life With Albertine is full of lesbians.


Emma Goldman gives Evelyn Nesbit a very sexual backrub in the book, that leads into (implied) sex. So, yes, even though that's not explored in the musical (because how could they fit every plot line into 2 1/2- 3 hours... it's already long enough as is), she would still be considered a lesbian, I suppose. Or at least she has some very strong tendencies...

Shouldn't the thread title be, Lesbian characters in musicals, as opposed to Lesbian musicals. I have yet to come across something touted as, "a lesbian musical".

Dottie, there was actually a musical running here in LA recently called "The Break-Up Notebook: The Lesbian Musical".
