Posted: 2/10/08 at 3:53pmHas this been leaked anywhere? What's the point of recording it if they won't even release it? Does anyone think it will ever be released?

No.
Money.
No.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 5:47pmI believe the show was given closing notice about a week before they were to record the studio album. However, there are many bootleg audio albums out there on the net of the show.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 5:54pmNo, it was recorded in full by the company but when it got panned Elton swore it wouldnt get released- he's stuck to his word sadly. The music was great but the physical show was dire.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 6:05pmI was one of the unfortunate few who saw it in previews -- or rather, the first act. I couldn't take it any longer (I'm not one to give up on a show, but in this case, I knew it was hopeless). It least it had the smarts not to proceed with a commerical release.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 6:08pmRE: my post on LeStat. I hit the wrong button and it posted three (four?) times. Sorry, folks, I wasn't THAT passionate about the issue at hand. My apologies.

The music was GREAT?!
Yeah, especially "In Paris."

I think it would sell. It's already sort of reached that level of camp classic. And if Bright Lights, Big City can get released...
But until that day comes, just get yourself one of the 183,039,521 audio recordings of the show that are out there, floating around. And with some imagination and a little finalcutpro you've got yourself a great pretend studio recording.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 6:38pmFour good songs tops. The score needed work and the book was fine the way it was in San Francisco.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 7:12pmI thought the second act of the show was good, but the first act was so slow and the songs boring. I saw it in San Fran when it was here.

Posted: 2/10/08 at 7:21pmI basically just want a high quality copy of Alison singing "I Want More". That was a great song.

I bet this thread is going to last for a while, and the next thread by phantomo88 mentioning Flyrope will last about 6 minutes...

Posted: 2/10/08 at 7:26pmFor the record, Elton's version of the demos are significantly better than the way they sounded on stage.

The closing notice was announced the day after the cast went into the studio to record. And it looks like it will never be released sadly, in thanks to Elton John.
I hate when people judge a show after seeing only the first act. Especially in this case when the second act was far superior to the first.

A friend of mine has a daughter who is 7 with the name Lestat. Every time I hear her name I think of this @*@* musical. :)

"I Want More" and "I'll Never Have That CHance" were fantastic songs. And God help me, I loved hearing Drew Sarich belt out "To Kill Your Kind."
The cast was fantastic, only reason I enjoyed this show. And the costumes were pretty.
