My my Aigoo, what a pretty avatar you got there.
Catherine Zeta Jones...one of the most beautiful women in the world IMO.
Chicago had a great cast as well. When I heard Catherine and Renee were in it, I thought maybe I would go see it. But when they announced Queen Latifah. I was sold.
Catherine performed/act her behind off...bravo to her.

I, of course, loved "Chicago" all around--the "wow" moment for me was Catherine Zeta-Jones, at the end of "I Can't Do It Alone" sailing across the table directly toward the camera, as if to swallow it whole in her exuberance. I actually get upset when people sneer at her and make stupid wisecracks about T-Mobile ads. She is the soul of that movie.
Is there anyone, ANYWHERE who was even looking at Renee Zellwegger during the finale of "Chicago"?

I was. I thought she was brilliant in that movie.
I definitely believe that Zeta Jones' Oscar moment was "I Can't Do It Alone" but from the very beginning of the scene in which she tells Mamma "What do you want me to do? Suck up to her like everybody else?" to the end when you see her vulnerable, sitting down after Roxie treated her like crap. That is just amazing! I would say that Chicago is one of the most perfectly cast movie musical together with Cabaret.

The only thing I would've wished for to make the movie better was if they could've given both Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah Oscars.
Gaw it's 1:24 in the morning and now you people got me in the Urge to go watch this movie. thanks -_-
Richard Gere was much better than I expected, but Marshall's first choice - Kevin Spacey - would have been perfection.
Turning down the role of Billy Flynn was one of the biggest mistakes of his career.
I love Chicago and was sooooooooooooo happy when it was made into a movie... I loved Catherine as "Velma" I thought she was perfect for it... Renee was ok but thought Catherine was the best out of the two... Also, how can you say she was fat! That's just crude....
Quite frankly, "fat" Catherine Zeta Jones is a thousand times more attractive than Renee Skele-wegger. Brrr. When's she's not Bridget Jones, she's creepily thin. Especially in Chicago.
She was still fab in it though. I love her portrayal of the character.
Yes, it's a brilliant movie. I wish I could see the stage show.
If Catherine Zeta Jones is fat then I'm officially a chubby chaser.

yeah, oh catherine is hot for a mother... wishing she wasnt married!
my fave line in the movie is when queen latifiah comes in, and catherine is like "HEY, MAMA!" oh, i love it!!!!!!!!!
Richard Gere is hot as hell. His tap dance and "Both Reached for the Gun" were two of my favorite moments in the film. I'm more than satisfied with his performance.
Not to be negative, cause I loved Chicago, but that Oscar belonged to The Pianist. Just goes to show that the Oscars are outdated and out of touch.
Oh how I love this film! All three women were amazing! And I'm glad to see some of you mentioning the incredible Renee Zellweger. Her version of "Roxie" was just spectacular!
I've heard so many people say "Catherine was too chubby" and "Renee was too skinny"....blah,blah,blah. I thought the contrast between them was great. All types and shapes of women are beautiful.
The deleted scene "Class" was great too. So sorry they cut it out.

Chicago was fricken awesome. Brilliantly casted. Brilliantly acted and directed. I loved that movie the first time I saw it.
But then I learned that the stage version was alot better, and apart of me died, for I don't think I'm gonna see the stage version any time soon.
I totally agress... Broadway over movie... The stage play is just so great.
I LOVE BOTH. *gives Chicago a big hug in general*

The only issue I have ever had with the movie was they cut "They Both Reach for the Gun". One of my favorite songs. I know they was an early script that put it into the movie (as a scene where both Roxie and Velma are in solitary after a scrag fight). For all the other cut songs... I dunno... but I am glad they where gone, "I know a Girl" & "Me and My Baby" bored me and I thought they really make an incredibly weak opening to Act 2. And "A Little Bit Of Good" rather annoyed me as well (though it was sad Christine Barinski never got the chance to shine further in the role of Mary Sunshine).
The only thing missing from the movie, was the humour, they took all the dark biting stuff out of it.
I love Chicago, movie and stage show.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is amazing, and deserved her oscar 110%.
Renee Zellweger was robbed by Nicole Kidman who was in the Hours for like 28 minutes. If anyone should have won for the Hours it was Julianne Moore (IMHO).
Sharin' the Chicago love...

I think you mean "My Own Best Friend."
The only reason why Spacey turned down Chicago was that he was already committed to The Life of David Gale, which was to shoot at the same time. Talk about being stuck in the wrong thing.
I agree, it was a mistake cutting "My Own Best Friend."
They didn't even need that fight thing. It would've worked fine if they had the song where it belonged, during the Kitty mess, and when all the attention is going to Kitty. It would've worked, because the number gives the incentive that Roxie is going to pull some trick to get the attention back to her, and she does by fainting. And in the stage show the number indeed does advance the plot.
I think "Me And My Baby" would've really worked also. It's obvious that some other numbers wouldn't have worked with the movie's theme for the musical numbers. But these 2 numbers (which were in the early stages of the script) would've been great in the film.

Where's the John C. Reilly love?? "Mr. Cellophane" was a moving highlight of the film. Renee wasn't bad. CZJ and Queen Latifah were spectacular (and might I add that Queen is simply gorgeous - not "gorgeous for a fat woman", but by any standard, her face glows).
