I also left at intermission. Act 1 was the most dense play I’ve ever had to sit through. My friend who stayed said audience impressions when she was leaving were... not great. I couldn’t wait to leave.
This play was not meant for American audiences. It’s too dense with English history. I felt like I was in the most boring class ever.

Any reports from people who stayed until the end?
Also, does anyone know the running time for this? (even those of you who left - did you find out beforehand how long it was supposed to be?)

Just saw the second preview. Ran 2 hrs 40 mins with a long intermission.
Don’t want to say too much since it’s so early in the run, but let’s just say I’ve never seen so many people not return for a second act in a very long time.

Posted: 4/29/18 at 7:08pmI stayed for the whole thing. The first act is a lot better than the second. I actually liked the first act, but it is dense. The second act was a downhill slide until a painfully long scene about the nature of god that made me want to flee the theater.
