Hi-I am going to be in NYC on Dec. 23 and Jan. 5th and 6th

I am seeing on the 5th-matinee Lifespan of a Fact.

On the 23rd I could see a matinee and evening performance

On the 5th I could see an evening performance

On the 6th I could see a matinee

Any suggestions of shows that are good ones to choose. I need recommendations of new shows opening- I have seen pretty much everything that has been opened for a while.

Thanks!

What kind of shows are you into/are your favorites? The Prom has been getting rest early buzz and tickets are most likely available m/cheap if a musical is appealing to you

Although the reviews on here are not glowing - and I agree as well - King Kong for the puppet performance in my opinion is worth the price of admission. Unlikely that this will ever tour specifically because of the size (weight) of the puppet.

Thank you-I am kind of torn because of the mixed reviews on King Kong but you make a good point.

What I Like? That is a good question-I love Broadway shows. Some of my favorites are Wicked, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen

I also love a good play as long as it's engaging. I am a huge fan of Wendy Wasserstein plays. I know opinions were mixed but I really enjoyed The Humans. I am pretty open to suggestions. In past years I have been in NYC for up to two weeks in December so really would get to see a big variety. I am trying to narrow down to what will be great musicals/plays.

Thanks in advance. This group has helped me a lot in the past. I probably would never have seen the Color Purple but was encouraged by this group, and I am so thankful I saw Cynthia Erivo on Broadway.

Once on this Island, My Fair Lady and The Bands Visit are must see musicals.

Among plays, Torch Song!

The Ferryman is extremely strong. An event. Don’t let the length dissuade you. This play cooks. Landscape Ofa Fact is only 85 minutes and light so it wouldn’t be too taxing a double feature.

The Prom is a delight with a terrific cast and an amazingly athletic chorus. It’s a blast of fun energy.

I also really liked Once on This Island, Come from Away, and of course Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton. Torch Song has a great turn from Mercedes Ruehl in its final third, and Elaine May, Joan Allen and David Cromer are doing solid work in the uneven Waverly Gallery.

But again: The Ferryman. It’s so good!
