Her Civil War songs make me cry. She's wonderful and amazing!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I love her too! I'll be seeing her live for the first time this weekend at the Greek in LA. I'm glad I was able to move beyond those rumors of her being a staunch Republican. Nobody that chummy with Michael Feinstein can be that conservative.

Someone Like You is a big favorite at our Showtune night here at a bar in Denver. I have seen her twice in concert and in the pre-Broadway tour of J&H.

I have front row seats for her Greek concert this weekend..YAY.

Like Kristins concert last week, there appears to be discounts now available for Linda and Michael Feinsteins concert this Sunday. I just checked ticketmaster and there are $20 seats through AMEX and special "partner" deals. Anyone know the codes so those who dont have tickets could buy them?

I love her on disk, but she is so much more incredible live.

And, her Vienna is a classic. I don't even know why, because the lyrics to the song are kind of silly when you think about them. However, her rendition is nothing short of incredible. I get chills thinking about it.

Is it bad that my favorite album of hers is the Broadway album, which not coincidentally, only has two Wildhorn songs on it?

The codes are TMDEAL for the Theatre Mania and AMEX for the American Express. They are pretty far back (Section C). The best available are still Section B, so it might be worth it to pay a bit more if you can, but that's a matter of preference.

I adore Linda re: Linda Eder I wish I could be at her concert.

I also wish she'd return to Broadway.

I'm seeing her in concert for the first time this Saturday here in San Francisco. In an article in the Chronicle awhile back, she talks about her upcoming concert, but also mentions a "musical comedy being written for her that she hopes will bring her back to Broadway".

And did anyone see Camille Claudel at Goodspeed? I'm interested to know how her acting has progressed since the days of Jekyll and Hyde.

"And did anyone see Camille Claudel at Goodspeed?"

I know she worked a LOT on her acting for that role. I didn't see the show, but I remember her reviews being excellent. The people I talked to who saw the show said her acting had progressed immensely since J&H.

Camille was good in terms of Linda Eder, but nothing more for me. It had a few good songs, but on the whole I'm not really a Wildhorn fan. He can keep his chorus whores and take his wild horn elsewhere in my humble opinion. (don't shoot, just my random musings)

I really believe that folks would go see any vehicle that Linda is involved in...including me. If she was on the corner singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I'd be the first in line for tickets, but I digress. I know that it was a disappointment for her that Camille didn't make it to Broadway, because she wanted to return, but I think a musical comedy would suit her better. She's hilarious, and this would really show off her talents. Plus, on the recent Seth's Chatterbox interview, she said she'd rather be in a featured role, where the show wasn't contingent upon her, and she could be home with her kid still. All I know is, whatever she does, I'll be there!

Did you ever notice both at the end of "I am what I am" and "Don't Rain on my Parade" it sounds like she's singing both the normal note AND the note the octave above it? Or maybe that's just me.

I was supposed to see Linda and Micheal Feinstein on the 12 of Augest....but of course that is the last 8 O'clock performance of my show. Of all the days for her to come anywhere near me...it's one of the most inconvinient times. Hmmmm...I hope it's not a sign of some sort...

cheers,
Mel...

An amusing last note from her San Francisco interview that I glossed over - a barb at Wildhorn, perhaps?

"There's a show that's being written for me now," she says. "I can't say by whom, but you'd know the names if I mentioned them. It's looking kind of good. It's a comedy-drama being tailored to me.

Unlike others, who shall remain nameless and who talk about projects when they're just an idea, I won't talk about it until it's a done deal."
