Posted: 1/17/05 at 10:51pmI would go to Linda Eder, but I like both. Lea is sweet and has a great voice but Linda is a powerhouse.

LEA SALONGA.
I love her, and I would love to see her in concert. I think she is amazing, and she is my role model. I would definitely reccommend Lea. She is a great performer... she really has emotion in her voice too.

Linda f888ed up her intro to "Someone Like You" on Rosie O. Donnell and looked to John McD for blame. She was so stank about it.

Posted: 1/18/05 at 10:34amI didn't see the second part of the initial question...but I am going to have to agree with redhot. The fact is that Lea is both an actress and a beautiful vocalist and Linda only really has the pipes. Although, at Linda's last concert, the few songs she did from camille claudele were very nice. As an overall performer, I always respect the actor/actress...so Lea wins.

LEA!!!
It was her voice that got me into musical theatre. I would kill to see her. Linda is alright, but she seems kinda full of herself. Lea all the way.

If you saw Linda in Camille Claudel in CT, you wouldn't say that she couldn't act. She was amazing, both in acting and singing in a 15 row theatre yet! Lea, although possessing an amazing instrument, has an immature stage presence. Just listen to her live cds (available at Footlights and no, I don't work there). Her banter between songs is embarrassing.

Posted: 1/18/05 at 11:52amLinda Eder. I absolutely adore both ladies, especially Lea Salonga because of her flawless voice and impeccable diction when she sings! (Ooh, hearing all of those consonants and all of the "T"s and "D"s at the ends of words give me chills!! I love it!!) But Linda has that belting-in-your-face-even-though-I'm-on-stage-and-you're-in-the-back-row voice that I love to hear live.

Posted: 1/18/05 at 12:43pmI have seen Linda in concert and absolutely would not see her in concert again nor would I recommend that anyone else see her in concert. I do agree that she is certainly a powerhouse, her vocal power is impressive, but other than that, in concert she cannot act, is boring, stiff, and her cockiness on stage is just annoying to watch. In concert (let's face it, all the time) her diction is also really poor so if you don't know all the songs she's singing you miss a lot.
