re: Lisa Brescia to standby Julia Murney in WICKED

And what do I "consistently" do? I barely even discuss Laura Benanti any longer. It got pretty useless after a while considering the discussion is always made about something other than her. As this one did too, apparently.

Regardless, congratulations and lots of luck, Lisa!

iLuv, what are you talking about? You brag ALL THE TIME! Don't you remember when you went around telling everyone how Laura was your BFF??
l love you without knowing how... or when... or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride.
I love you because I know no other way than this.

LMAO. Careful. Sarcasm isn't read well here.

But yeah, I especially remember having to ask someone WTF a BFF was. I was like... what does that MEAN?

It’s not worth it to argue with some people. I can feel my IQ going lower.

"Have they come yet?"

Congratulations Lisa! I think I need to make a trip back to the Gershwin now!

Great for Lisa, yay.

Now, can we please fix the thread title? You're missing the word "for" between "standby" and "Julia."

Great, another ultra exciting thread about stand-by's for Elphaba and who's BFF's with Luv. Can we just delete this entire thread before everyone *else* projectile vomits all over their computer screens? FLAME AWAY!

Where in God's name did I even mention we're friends? I mentioned she's standby and wished her congratulations? Jesus Christ.

Don't you know that saying "congratulations" automatically translates into "look at my BFF"?

In all seriousness, what's the big deal? Iluv posted what I think is really good news. So, congratulations Lisa!

I am a huge supporter of Lisa as well...I saw her in Aida once, The Woman in White four times (twice with her as the lead), and The Times They Are A-Changin' twice, including her final performance. I hope I get to see her as Elphaba...I'm sure she will be fabulous. Thanks for the info!

re: Lisa Brescia to standby Julia Murney in WICKED

See, you can't just have a thread informing people about a new cast change or to offer congratulations. No. We have to turn it into a cut-throat situation where every word, spelling, grammar mistake, or simply misinterpretation of information gets F*CKING ANALYZED TO DEATH! Geez!

Congrats to Lisa! I saw her way back in 2003 as Amneris in Toronto. And if things go well, I think we may already know our next Elphaba after Julia leaves.

But I love Julia too! God, I love this woman!

Kevin, I'll be crossing my fingers that it does happen. I would kill to see Lisa take over that part. It would finally put her on that pedestal she shoulda been on years ago!

re: Lisa Brescia to standby Julia Murney in WICKED

A_F_L: we should go together! Honestly, if she ends up taking over for Julia Murney, you and I have to be at Lisa's first official performance. I hope to see her go on for Julia at least once though before (IF) she takes over.

(I do realize it is WAY too soon to be discussing Julia Murney's replacement, but indulge me. Thanks.)

re: Lisa Brescia to standby Julia Murney in WICKED

Totally. I need to email Lisa to find out if she has any announced dates yet for when she's going on for Julia. I do want to see Julia, but much rather see Lisa!!! Can't wait!!

Does ANYONE know how to pronounce her name? It's been puzzling me for ages and I still can't find anyone who knows how.

I pronounce it BREH- SEE- UH.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
