Flat out sucks!! I recall seeing one for this show earlier where the "M" in mermaid was the fins/feet of a mer-person. That was pretty cool. Anyone else see that?
yes I hope they re-do it...it looks like a movie poster because it says it is rated G. I have never seen a rating other than "Intended for Mature Audiences" on a poster.
It's not as simple like all the other Disney musical posters, so hopefully (probably) they'll change it.
I would bet the farm it's just a graphic placeholder.

I like it!

I lvoe how she's like 50 times skinnier than she was in the movie

Well, good...she was kind of letting herself go in the movie.
I don't hate the poster, but for such fun and enchanting material they can do approximately 800 times better. I agree with Rentaholic--the color scheme is a little grayed, like it should be hanging in the waiting room of a children's hospital circa 1989. I'm sure Disney will re-do it for Broadway.
It looks cute. Nothing, amazing.
Hopefully they'll come up with a better one.
Can't wait for it to hit Broadway!
Are you freakin' kidding me with this skinny business?

Forgive me please and no one get their knickers in a twist if this has already been asked, but is the cast official yet and who is playing what?

>>>Wow...they basically took one of the early promo posters for the 89 film, tilted Ariel's body, stylized it and re-worked the lettering...way to go Disney, way to create a new image...let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Exactly what I thought. I had a poster like that back in the day.

i like it. maybe there are better versions out there but i think the pose of her sitting and looking out at the rest of the world is very powerful. I like how you can tell it is her but it does not show the front so you can still picture her how you want. I like the styling of it...it might be similar to the style of the set and costumes but who knows...I also like it because it still has a fun feel and is very colorful. Its different than other broadway posters.
I like it, it's just really misproportionate(sp?). the movie one is way better.

I'm not excited about this at all.
I would be if they didn't have to close beauty and the beast for it.
I will NOT be going to see it.

Again, what old Aida and Beauty and the Beast posters?

That's not a G rated logo, thats a COPYRIGHT symbol.

yeah, what old Aida and BATB posters? If anyone can show us, please share!
"I recall seeing one for this show earlier where the "M" in mermaid was the fins/feet of a mer-person."
I never saw this, but it sounds much more along the line of the other Disney Posters. They all basically have the Title and one bold iconic image: LK has the Lion image that looks similar to the movie but accurately captures the ethnic flair of the stage production; BatB had the Beast image: Tarzan has the swinging Tarzan/Letter "Z" (which I thought was pretty clever).
Surely this isn't THE logo...we'll just have to wait and see.
Yeah, I'm guessing (and hoping) that the poster will be reworked before the show arrives on Broadway. The design that they have on the site is pretty simple, which, if done right, can be a good thing...but it's just sort've boring right now.
"That's not a G rated logo, thats a COPYRIGHT symbol."
That's what I said, but for some reason my post got deleted. Go figure!
I'm sure the design will change, but there was a placeholder on the site earlier. It was just the title in ocean-y colors. Just playing devil's advocate.
"Oceany"? Making up words again, Rose?
