Looks really cool. I can't wait to see how they pull it off.
Yes! They finally have the dates up! I am so excited they chose to premiere in Denver. I can't wait!

ug. I really hope that is gonna change. It's alright, It's just very bland and the color scheme looks like a faded 80s logo for some coastal retirement home. Don't get me wrong, I'm SO excited about this show, it's just that this logo doesn't have near the appeal of all the other Disney Broadway Logos imo.

With Rentaholic2 here. It's nice, don't get be wrong, but it doesn't have that "WOW" factor to it either.
Eh. It's ok.
I like the Tarzan logo better... but then again, look at how THAT turned out. Maybe this will be better then.
Doesn't even touch the perfection of the Beauty and the Beast logo.
I cannot wait to see how this is done onstage. And Emily Skinner better be Ursala on Broadway or I'm going to have some major ass kicking to do!
The poster is....nothing impressive to say the least.

Wow...they basically took one of the early promo posters for the 89 film, tilted Ariel's body, stylized it and re-worked the lettering...way to go Disney, way to create a new image...let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Read a rumor on talkin broadway that Sheri Renee Scott is Ursula. It may not be true, but more than one post says it.
I really don't think that's the poster they are going to use for the actual show. It will be redesigned - they always are.
I hope it's redesigned - it's a pretty dated looking piece of graphic design. It reminds my of my own student work in the early 80's, for which I received a rather average grade. I got better, and so did graphic design.
well thankfully they did re-do Aida's logo before it came to broadway, this one is nice, but the colours need to be jazzed up or something.
agreed Munk...
I'm pretty sure that's just to have something there on the page...that's NOT gonna be THE poster.
I like it, but they should change it. Can you imagine that poster in Times Square? I wonder what Ariel's (and the other mer-people's) costume will look like considering their fins. I think they should do it like on Disney On Ice.
ETA: This is the original movie poster, which I think is aesthetically more appealing than the Denver one.
we can only hope that they rework that poster. Awful. Boring. Disney seems to be depending on selling a lot of tix to kiddies.
I'm hoping that poster jpeg is just a "holder" on that Denver site.
It's not much to look at. If you're "dumbing down" the original artwork from 1989, it's not exactly a step forward.
I'm sure they'll come up with something else soon!
Or not.

Yeah, it does look a little bland. But I like the direction its going in. I don't look at it and think DISNEY'S the little mermaid. It actually looks like its heading in the direction of a real story. Still a little disney, but it looks like a sea tale, an actual ligetimate story, and not DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY.
Maybe I'm reading to much into it
That said, I hope this show dosen't go overboard with its inventiveness. (Pun not intended but thoroughly enjoyed
)
No doubt the poster will change for the Broadway production. I have a three-sheet for the original Beauty and the Beast world premiere and it is quite different from the Broadway design.
I wonder if it's worth anything now...
I'm sure it will be different when it's advertised on Broadway..... hopefully

What old Aida and Beauty and the Beast posters?

It's understated- or maybe an attempt at tasteful that has tipped a little far into bland. Kind of 'genteel'.
