Now you've gone and done it. You've brought the curse of Pookie Adams down upon yourself.

Kate definitely has that golden age of Hollywood look down, as does Toni.
Forget the musical, let's just remake SUNSET BLVD with Kate. I still need to see MILDRED PIERCE.

In about 30 years, Gaga would make a sensational Norma.
Michelle would be amazing in the role.
Does anyone know if Cate Blanchett sings? She'd be thrilling as well.

Resurrecting this ancient thread because it makes for some interesting reading about all the names people considered for a possible movie version of Sunset Blvd.
No one even dreamed of Scherzinger 10 years ago.
I am curious about when the show came to the US originally in 1993 how they decided upon Glenn Close instead of someone better known for their singing?
4 years later Minnelli was considered good enough to cover in Victor/Victoria. Was she simply not interested in the grind of doing a Broadway show in '93?

Nicole still isn't right for the role in the more traditional sense, she works for this very production. I don't think she has the gravitas and acting talent needed for Norma in a movie, or more traditional production.
Glenn acted the role like no one else, her reaction to the spotlight hitting her before AIWNSG will stay with me forever. Spine tingling. Norma is very much a role driven by acting, if all you have is vocals then much of the power and pathos is lost
