I saw Liza for the second time on 12/21. It was even better than the first time I saw her on 12/7. The show keeps getting better, if that is really possible. To me, her voice sounded stronger and she seemed much less out-of-breath after each number. Her warmth and charisma were amazing. What really moved me was her ability to personally connect with so many people. In front of me in the third row was a very elderly woman who looked quite frail sitting with a middle aged man. She rose on several occasions to give Liza a standing ovation. At the last encore, Liza placed herself directly in front of the woman and gave her a slight bow and said "thank you" to her. Everyone around the woman got very excited and the woman kept saying "was that for me?" in an incredulous manner. I was very moved by Liza's thoughtfulness and humanity in giving this woman special recognition. I think Liza was touched by this woman's efforts to get to the theater on a very miserable weather day and stand up for her. Liza paid back the compliment and gave this woman a very special moment. Also, Marvin Hamlisch was in the audience that night. The audience wasn't as frenzied as on 12/7 (not as many standing o's in the first act) but there was still a giant love fest going on. This is a great production, the new material is wonderful, Liza sings and looks great, the old material is powerful, the orchestra is first rate and the "Willliams Brothers" are extremely talented. It was chilling to hear Liza sing some of her mother's songs( Palace Medly and Merry Little Christmas). I had the opportunity to hear Judy Garland sing in 1968 and see how she mesmerized a crowd. When you hear Liza sing some of her mother's songs, it's as if Judy is back in spirit. However, for most of the show, she is pure Liza with all the power and vulnerability wrapped up in one dynamic package. Great job, Liza!

I'm seeing the show tomorrow, for what was supposed to be her LAST performance!

To those who have seen the show -- do you remember approximately how long it ran?

The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?

Last night it was 2.5 hours...and yes, each performance is getting better and better. I'm going again tonight and tomorrow afternoon.
