This just in-
(New York) A six month old cat named "Otto" has been named the New York Times new drama citic, focusing on Broadway Musicals. "The cat has demonstrated exquisite taste" announced the Times "and has been proven to be able to swiftly critique new musicals."

This is old news about Otto destroying his 2nd draft of the Phantom sequel. It was in the British press over a week ago.
Plus Andrew did not seem upset when he mentioned it in his video blog from Majorca, Spain on June 6th. He was working on Phantom the sequel as they call it on his Website with David Zippel.
Apparently Otto jumped in the piano when he was working on the score. From the way he talked it sounded like it was a second vesion. So Otto had to stay home fromt he trip to Spain and Andrew laughed about the whole thing. Otto is a playful kitten from all Andrew says about him.

Posted: 6/14/07 at 11:49amSomewhere, Patti LuPone is at PetsMart buying fancy toys for a good kitty. This made me crack up when I read it and then, of course, I put on my conspiracy theory hat. Do you think this is also a ploy for him trying to buy more time rewriting things so he doesn't look that foolish going into a project that you know critics will be gunning for? I know there's no set date or anything, but he did come off announcing this as if he knew what everything was gonna play out to be. Just a thought, but wow, I never had as much appreciation for cats as I do now.

Can we give this cat a special Tony? Becuase he has made the world of theatre just a little better.

We ALL know his cats name is Grizabella, not Otto!
I'd tear up his work too, if he called me Otto. Doesn't he even listen to his own music?
