>Body Beautiful may not have run too long, but a CD of the entire score was recently released and it has a very good score - Kander and Ebb's first.<
That will be news to Bock and Harnick.
Check Footlight for it.
Hard to believe that soon Virgin will be gone to go on the ash heap along with the footlight store. What next, Strand?
Even though it was just a few years ago, I always forget that it even existed....

I remember my first opening night was a flop-- Do Black Patent Shoes Really Reflect Up? I was also mugged on my way to Port Authority--not a good night.
The Rink? I enjoyed it. I actually have a (funny?) picture of the amazing Liza Minelli (high as a kite) that was taken (stage Door) one or two nights before she went into rehab as she was exiting her show. I would post it--but I respect her too much and she has been through a lot. I couldn't believe that I lucked out and saw her. I had seen the shwo a month earlier and just happened to walk by the theater with a camera while she was leaving.

Wasn't there a show called "Soon" with Richard Gere in the cast?
I also seem to remember Debbie Allen being in a modern version of "Alice in Wonderland" with a song called Disco Birthday Party, or something to that effect.
Yes, Richard Gere was in the musical SOON along with Peter Allen. For only three perfs!!

DRG has the CD back in print. Show also marked the Broadway debut of Barbara Cook.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
