Hmmm. I'd like to try to find a way to record me singing "Cooties" lol. Though so far, the part of Amber is uncontested.

Posted: 8/26/04 at 7:53pmI actually can't in real life. I'm too tall. Four inches to tall to be exact. The role of Tracy is supposed to be 5'3 or under. But of course, I can't get my dream role and role that is perfect for the chubby drama queen because I'm too damn tall. *vents* But I auditioned for it on Broadway and the Touring company, soo I don't know. I just think it would be fun.

Posted: 8/26/04 at 8:02pmThis movie should be pretty good. Now since the Phantom AND Hairspray are coming out, all I need to make me REALLY, REALLY happy is a Wicked movie which should hopefully come out since Universal is one of Wickeds biggest producers.

Hm, Broadway right now is full of movies...
Rent (200?)
The Producers (1968 & 2005)
Phantom (2004)
Lion King (1994)
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Little Shop (I know it just closed, but still - 1986)
Hairspray (1988 & 2006)
Fiddler on the Roof (1971)
Dracula (various, most recent: Bram Stoker's Dracula - 1992)
Wonderful Town (TV Movie - 1958 )
42nd Street (1933)
Wicked (based on Wizard of Oz - 1939)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988 )
La Cage aux Follies (The Birdcage - 1996)
Info: IBDb.com and IMDb.com
Just a trend I noticed (and yes, I know some were made after original successes of the stage musicals, i.e. Fiddler)
EDIT: formatting came out all wierd

Since when did this turn into the "How can I audition" thread?
Here's your answer on how to audition - Get an agent and be sent in for an audition when they have them.

Hah,
Oh how right Matt_G is then. Hah...dont mind me I'm just bitter. I wanted that part so bad (but had to miss my callback due to family issues and flying back home). Tell him he does a great job, and I'm sure I will become a regualr at the stagedoor once I head back to Toronto next week.

Okay, does anyone think Kathy Brier should be Tracy? She was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing and she's already on TV (one of those soap operas--i forget which one) and she's insanely awsome. I love her. But yeah, Harvey's already been in numerous films--there's no reason why he shouldn't be in the movie. And kerry Butler as Penny anyone???!
P.S. IF anyone does find out how to audition I want an immediate PM!

Posted: 8/27/04 at 9:33amI auditioned for Tracy and got a few callbacks for Bway and national tour...I'm 4'11. It was exciting, whee! I hope they get most of the originals back for the film because that would be all kinds of fun.
