Anyone see the New York Times on Friday? Jason Zinoman did a featurette about Felicia Finley (with a photo) in the listings.
'The performer who best nails the show's tongue-in-cheek mood might be Felicia Finley, whose roaring turn as the hard-rocking bleached blonde Linda is a delicate balancing act between love letter and broad satire. ... She has only two scenes, but makes the most of them. In her first and most memorable song ... a wind machine blows her spiky hair as she emotes like some kind of devilish cross between Pat Benatar and Sebastian Bach. It may be the first Broadway theater performance that makes you want to raise a lighter in the air and nod your head back and forth in awe.'
Zinoman also notes that the show 'has been surging at the box office lately.'
First off, that's a great review on Felicia's half.
Second, i'm hoping he's right about the sales. We'll see when BroadwayWorld updates their grosses because it obviously doesn't show now.

Well, as I've stated before, the show's box office sales trippled the day after the Tony performance and they didn't even win anything. That is a HUGE deal, I think. The only time they've dropped since was the week of the 4th of July, and unless it's Thanksgiving or Christmas, holiday weeks tend to be rough ones on Broadway.

Thank you. :p I appreciate it. I'm sure Kevin does, too.
Well, you know I love Kevin. Even if I do tease you. :p

Everybody teases me, so I'm used to it. LOL
The July/August issue of the great magazine DANCESPIRIT has Amy Spanger on the cover and a big article on the show Thought you'd all like to know.

I'm actually kind of sad at Paris and SNL saying you guys would see something else if Stephen weren't in the show. I mean, I can understand your disappointment, but why wouldn't you give the show your support by going to see it anyway? Besides, Stephen's understudy is a ridiculously talented guy, I'm sure you'd be pleased with him.
Oh I totally dont mean to make it sound like I DONT think it would be good without Stephen! I'm sure is understudy IS great, and seriously, if I was able to see the show a lot and I'd already seen Stephen a few times I'd be ALL up for seeing Kevin :) It's really just because I probably WONT get to see it many times, so I'm still kind of on a Stephen high. Haha. you know what I mean? like, I think most of the people who see it on a regular basis are about ready to see some understudies at this point, and that makes total sense. Cause you've already seen all the originals and so its fun to have it mixed up. Its just.. I'm still too attached to the main people still to want to see any understudies haha. Plus, again, I totally wouldnt go see just ANYTHING else instead of seeing Wedding Singer with Kevin its more just that there are lots of others shows I still want to see, and if Stephen isn't there than I'd kinda rather go hit up one of those shows for the meantime since i really should give those ones a chance too hehe. ehh.. ok, I guess I probably WOULD still see it if stephen wasnt there haha, to support it and everything, but I'd just be.... immensly dissapointed even if Keven is totally awesomee haha
Deleted because of Thespian Geek request. I just don't like people who trash this show, and recommend people not to see it. If you don't like it, don't YOU see it.
Why would you even mention that, muscle? Who cares? They posted here to tell us about Amy and Dance Spirit, not start crap. So don't you do it, either.
Well I finally saw the show last night and I am STILL IN SHOCK!!!!!!!!!! It's beyond what I thought it would be, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorites were Amy Spanger and Felicia Finley, they were dynamite in every scene, how does Felicia twist her body like that 8 times a wekk, HOW?!?!
The rest of the cast was amazing too, Stephen and Tina seemed like they were really in love, such a great couple, I'm sure Laura is good too, but Tina brought tears to my eyes in the final scene. Stephen is also an amazing dancer, I was so impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROCK ON and ON to the best show on Broadway, The Wedding Singer!!!!!!!!!
That's great that you loved this show. I agree, it is the best show on Broadway, my friend saw it last night from the 3rd row and told me that the theatre was packed, people went crazy and got a standing ovation at the end.

I'm going to see Wedding Singer in mid-August so I bought the CD yesterday and I'm listening to it and I really like it!! I love the beat. It sort of reminds me of Hairspray.
I need to get things done though and I can't concetrate when listening to music.
I bought the cd too, I can't stop listening to Felicia's Dear John song! SO FREAKIN' FUNNY!
SweetQ, was the CD available in any record store in FL? I bought mine via-amazon.com

muscle- I easily got it at Barnes and Noble on University Dr.
There were plenty of copies. It was on sale too- 16.99 as opposed to 18.99
Anybody know what is on the DVD re-release of the film? There is a preview of the musical, sounds cool!

I'm only on song #8 but I don't see that song on the CD. Am I blind?
It's her song to Robbie, the letter song!

Oh.
The song "A Note from Linda?"
Who is Felicia?
Edit: *laughs* I like #10- I'm Jewish.
Felicia is Felicia Finley, she plays Linda. :)
Border's also carries the CD, too. The one here in Omaha that I went to had it on sale and had about 10 copies.

the rereleased DVD is the same thing as the other DVD, just with different packaging and a "Totally Awesome 80's edition" stamp. The only different special feature is the behind the scenes look at the musical. There are interviews with various people that worked with the show including Lynch and Benanti. Lynch and Benanti are the ONLY cast members that are interviewed. and then there is a clip of "Come Out of The Dumpster" from the show's Seattle run.

thesbian- thanks for explaining!
I feel dumb now. heh
Is the stage door hard to find? I would like to meet the cast. Do most of them come out?
Oh thank you so much! Guess I'll skip it.
The stagedoor isn't hard to find at all. It's on the same side of the building as the entrances/exits into the theatre. So after you've seen the show just look to your left for the barricades. LOL And normally they all come out. :)
The cast is very friendly, Felicia hugged me so tight I nearly fainted!
