Well - the story is gaining traction on social media. Yvette Nicole Brown, Mykail Kilgore, Jasmine Amy Rogers, Zhailon Levingston, Marti Cummings, etc have all posted on Instagram in support of Audra and Kecia.

Those are not *my* words. I don't know why you quoted my post in such a manner that it seems like I'm the one who said that, when I very clearly identified the source of that comment in my original message. I don't endorse that point of view -- I thought it was interesting coming from Rick Miramontez's husband, given that the article insinuates that Patti and Rick fell out during THE ROOMMATE.
Personally, I've found Patti's bluntness refreshing in the past, but here she comes across as tone-deaf and classless.

This thread is exactly as I knew it would be. Proclaiming it's Patti being Patti and that it's not wild for her to double down and belittle Kecia Lewis. Also even if it IS just shade to Audra, to say that her support of Kecia was "typical Audra", when the woman has literally fought for equality her whole damn career, is IN FACT, racist! White people don't get to tell Black folks, and damn sure not Black women what is and isn't racist. If you disagree, tough titty. Black folks actually don't care if you agree or not. We know what we know. We experience the **** every single day of our lives.
While y'all bend over backwards to defend Patti, ALL OF BLACK BROADWAY and the yt co-conspirators who have a ****ing brain are LIVID! I loved every bit of the article and wouldn’t want Lupone any other way . I don’t think I’d want to know her.. or be friends with her . But long live my diva and can’t wait to see her next concert or tv show. Make of it what you will . Your opinion of me or anyone matters very little to me. Cynthia IS difficult to work with. Tonya IS a nutcase. It has nothing to do with them being Black. It has everything to do with their behavior.

Everyone on this board dragged Laura Osnes, Christine Ebersole, Lea Michele for their repugnant behavior too. Hell, I remember people reaming Kristin Chenoweth on here when she appeared on the 700 Club back in her Wicked days.
And people questioning Audra’s casting in Lady Day had nothing to do with race either. Up until that point, no one knew she could transform her voice into that of Billie Holliday’s, so there was trepidation. She proved everyone wrong. But in this particular production of Gypsy, she was not so successful. Lots of people don’t like her performance. Are they all racist?
Again as a Black person, I find the threads connecting this entire mess back to racism precarious at best.
I guess I’m in the minority and I’m fine with that.

You’ll notice I haven’t said much of anything about Gypsy at all because nothing I’m saying is specific to Gypsy. Or frankly even specific to Audra.
