When I was a baby, my mom often sang "Count Your Blessings" from White Christmas to me before bed. Are there any other good lullabies from musicals (or movie musicals)?
So far, the only ones I can think of are "Til There Was You" and "Goodnight, My Someone" from The Music Man.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but my best friend's dad used to sing her "A Bushel and a Peck" at night. Yes, I know, it's a strip number in GUYS AND DOLLS, but in another context, it's actually quite sweet.

I would sing my son to sleep with "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd. Always did the trick.

The only one I could think of off the top of my head are:
"Sylvia's Lullaby" - Finding Neverland
"Tender Shepherd" - Peter Pan
"Just Beyond The Stars" - Peter Pan (Stiles and Drewe version)
"Summertime" - Porgy and Bess
"Pony Girl" - Fun Home
The Beggar Woman's lullaby at the end of Sweeney Todd (not included in many productions)
Plus these 2 more humorous ones:
"Mrs. Taylor's Lullaby" - Bat Boy
"I am Here For You" - Book of Mormon

I always think it's a sin that Stay Awake was cut from Mary Poppins for the stage.
Can't think of many that aren't already mentioned, but on the campy side: Mrs. Taylor's Lullaby, Batboy
Soon: Once Upon A December, Anastasia?

Ha! That's both very sweet and very unsettling! Is he old enough to know the context now?

Bushel and a Peck is NOT a strip number, it's also not a lullaby -- as it won't lull anyone to sleep. (but I use to sing to my kids all the time.
(The strip number is "Take Back Your Mink".)

"Dear Theodosia" - I would love to have Leslie sing me to sleep with that one, cradled in his arms.

He does now, but says it's still near and dear to him.

When I was babysitting my nephew a couple years ago, I'd sing "Hang The Moon" from Smash to him. He really loved it.

It can certainly be a lullaby -- my mom used to sing it to me when she put me to bed, too. Apparently she got it from her mom, who did the same.

Parts of "I'd Give My Life for You" from Miss Saigon could be seen as a lullaby.

Although it is sung about her Birthday, "Little Lamb"
from Gypsy is very much a lullaby.

One day when the boyfriend and I had just started dating I had "Bushel and a Peck" stuck in my head so I was just kind of singing it under my breath. He seemed so shocked that someone else knew that song because his grandmother used to sing it to him. He didn't know it was from a musical.
My sister's fiance's grandmother sang that song quite a bit, too. Maybe it's a midwest thing?

My mom used to sing that to me, too! It's a little too upbeat to be a lullaby, but it still holds a special place in my heart.
