re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I actually like that wig better than the Encores! wig.

I'd like the poster a lot more if it didn't clearly look Photoshopped.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

Awful job superimposing her image.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I think it's pretty hideous. The show deserved a poster that matches its quality.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I agree. It doesen't look that good. I kinda like the one they had for the City Center Encores Better.

It looks cheap.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I think it looks stupid. It needs a fresh take on it to set it apart from the other revivals and to get a new crowd to see it. They should have gone the route of a "hip vintage" look.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

UGH! Hip vintage would have worked, Rentboy that might have been cool. But that looks like a cheaper, messier throwback to the Company revival. I can even see the faint outlines of a clear cube that she stands upon re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I loved the Encores wig compared to that curled mess. Yikes!

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I don't like it much.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

Wasn't it her real hair in the Encores production?
#16

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

horrible! But at least they're giving Patti Red Hair for this production! They should have just used the city center poster.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

Don't care for that wig, perhaps because I saw the Encores version.
Also I agree with the above stated responses of those saying it looks "cheap." It not awful, it just really does look cheap.

However, if Miss LuPone wants to sign one and drop it by my apartment, I would more than happily accept it.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I wonder how it will look up on a marquee.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I'm really excited for this production, but that poster is atrocious...

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

That is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. It looks like my 12-year old brother did it.

I like this one much, much better!!

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

In any case, the show deserves better. The most recent revival seemed like it got it right, quite inventive and with nicely fitting colors.

Actresses on Broadway rarely use their own hair. Even Laura Bell Bundy uses a wig on LEGALLY BLONDE. It's just easier.
I dislike the Ravinia wig as well, Encores! got it much better.

re: Lupone Gypsy Poster

I don't like either of the posters, honestly - I was truly hoping for some exciting fresh poster, much like RentBoy suggested...

Oh well.

Here's to hoping this means they're gearing up for ticket sales sometime before previews start.
