"The title was not LUPONE GYPSY. It was just her last name LUPONE on top of the title of the show. The title of the show was and always will be GYPSY."
Actually, it was billed as LUPONE GYPSY. I work at City Center, and that's how we sold the tickets over the phone, etc, etc. Legally, yes, the show is and always will be GYPSY, but it was advertised as LUPONE GYPSY by City Center.

i wouldve chosen gold leaf, dark red & black for the color scheme (to echo the gold leaf of the sets & the dark red of the curtain.
i wouldve made the word GYPSY the only light "source", & i wouldve used the font from the ROSE sign that lowers during ROSES TURN.
i wouldnt picture any of the cast. their names are enough.
this production deserves something with much more class.

Norn, you've got my vote to design this production's poster! I love what you described.

Norn, I think you should create what you described, then we can all tell you how amazing it is, and then maybe the press people for Gypsy will like it so much that they use it.....
...just a thought!
I'm with norm. I'd love to see that.
Hell, at least it ain't that awful Laura Bell Bundy photoshop.

The people over at ATC think this is a fake poster, and Broadway.com got duped.
I dont think its what will be put on window cards etc

But I don't think Broadway.com will post an "April Fools' Day" Gypsy joke...
Norn, I'm with Ry- please execute your idea!

It's a mock-up. The pic is from Ravinnia,it has nothing to do with this production. I sincerely doubt this is the new poster for the revival. The City enter was no better. It looked like a Liza knockoff.
I don't think this is a JOKE. I think it's temporary. I would be embarrassed if I was LuPone and this was my official poster.
no... that's the REAL POSTER..

I dunno, I'd hope 8 weeks out that they'd have real artwork.

my heart jut sank...i was hoping it was a joke or a mock-up...besides being so amateur & tacky, it just has nothing to do with the show!!!
Broadway.com, despite its name, isn't always the most reliable source.
Oh no! I still hope that's only temporary artwork.
the website that I posted is from Playbill.com

But Jaystarr already confirmed this through the show site.
^ Yes, but they might just be using this as preliminary/temporary artwork, until the final poster is created.

I don't know what idea strikes me as sadder. That this may be the same designer that did such a bad job on the Company revival (and they're still actually being hired), or that another designer did something so reminiscently awful and blue as that.
