MAMMA MIA!: The Movie arrives on DVD on November 25, 2008!

It's official. MAMMA MIA! arrives on DVD and Blu-ray disc on Tuesday November 25 (in the US) and on Monday November 24 (in the UK). No info on Special Features has been released yet on either the single-disc or the 2-disc versions.

Ok.

Why is that Leatherheads isn't being released until September, and it came out in theaters months and months ago, but Mamma Mia comes out so quickly??

Awesome! I suspected it would be released around the same time that Hairspray did. They both came out in the same month and they are both released on DVD in the same month... a year apart, though.

LOL.

I love that when someone posted about "Hairspray" becoming the third highest grossing movie musical no one even said "peep."

But, now that it's "Mamma Mia!" everyone freaks out.

Most movies get a DVD release 4-6 months after they've been in theaters. Leatherheads was released on 4/4 and the DVD comes out 9/23. If you check the release dates for Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda, you'll see that they are also getting a release in the 5 month window. Mamma Mia was released on 7/18, that puts the release window at a little over 4 months so it's not that much earlier than the Leatherheads release.
