I'm not saying he did or didn't injure himself, but I will say I wish producers (in general) would just start being honest when a person simply isn't ready to go on in a role.

The first replacement Trunchbull in London was also "injured" for quite some time before he eventually made it on stage...

It's a tough role, no doubt. I hope Craig Bierko gets there.

I would love to see Chris Hoch in the part! Saw the show two weeks ago and loved him as Sergei, even though it's a tiny part. Really interested in seeing all of the adult understudies in this show, actually! Especially John Arthur Green and Ben Thompson for Mr. Wormwood and Sam Sturm or Betsy Struxness for Miss Honey.

According to the official website, Chris Hoch is an understudy.

I'm confused because the website only lists him as an understudy for Miss Trunchbull, but not for Mr. Wormwood...? It's just listed as if he was playing the part:

"MR. WORMWOOD, SERGEI, U/S MISS TRUNCHBULL"
