So... Let me get this straight. Next to Normal and A Little Night Music does not get filmed.. but.. Memphis does?

The producers of Memphis must be willing to cough up the money to have it filmed, the producers of Next to Normal and A Little Night Music were not. It isn't like there is some secret committee that decides which show get filmed and which ones don't,

I thought I read on here that Next to Normal was filmed with the original cast. Not for public release, but for the Lincoln Center archives.

lol.. Thanks for clarifying. I was a little confused. I can see this being filmed though. The show itself reminds me of the little engine that could. Alot of ppl had this show closing before it even opened and its still running. Personally it was just ok.

Anytime a show is filmed I think it's a good thing.

I found it to be mediocre as well, but I'm glad they're going to record it for something other than the archives (assuming any of this is even true of course).

I know it wasn't like there was a choice between Memphis and next to normal or Night Music, but it's incredibly unfortunate that of all the shows that could end up getting filmed, it's Memphis.

While i enjoyed the show & welcome the fact it might be taped, so many other shows past & present are more deserving. J/H got recorded because Hasselhoff put up his own money. The sad reality is unless someone has very deep pockets it will not be done.

The irony is this was a show many on this board were pronouncing DOA before it even opened.

The show will be filmed later this month for the LC archives. So looks like it won't be a commercial release.
