I rushed on a Saturday two weeks ago, and here's my experience.
On Friday night, I checked that the matinee show is almost sold out (~10 tickets left), and the night show is about 3 tickets left. So I was pretty sure that they will sell out since I am just looking for standing room tickets (People on this board mentioned that the view from the rush box seats are pretty obstructed, and the standing room has a much better view).
I arrived around 7:30am on sat, and was 6th in line. At around 9:30am, someone from the box office came out and said that for the matinee show there are three options: 8 rush tickets ($40 each), front orchestra side partial view ($75 each), and standing room ($47). For the evening, there's rush tickets and standing room.
When the box office opened, they separate people into two lines: one for matinee and one for evening. I went for the matinee line. Most of people in front of me were looking for rush tickets for the matinee show, when it got to my turn, they just started selling $75 partial view seats. However, they said that they have to sell all the $75 partial view tickets first before they can sell the standing room.. So I had to go to the end of the line.. While I was waiting in line, I found that I won lottery for another matinee show, so I went to the end of the line for the evening and was able to get two tickets for standing room.
In hindsight, I probably didn't need to go to the box office that early since I was just looking for standing room tickets (I think I will be able to get standing room tickets even if I arrive by 9:30 or 10am, since I had to go to back of the line anyway).
Went to rush meteor shower today. It's the first Sunday it's playing so didn't know what to expect given that some other days had so many people
We showed up at 8 am for the noon box office opening. Was way too early. Only 4 people were there at 8:30. Then the first two people left for another show. By 9:30 it was 4 again. By 10:30 it was maybe 10 or 12 people. By noon it was like 30 people and when we got let in they split us into two rows for matinee and evening.
Note that not all Sundays have two shows.
We got rush rather than standing room because they hadn't sold all tix yet at the time and we were first and didn't want to wait anymore.
While there is obstructed view for the far back right corner from the right box we're in, it's pretty close to the stage : think far right 7th row orchestra. While sro is three or four times as far back but not obstructed. So it's more your preference. I would really prefer to be much closer and kiss some stuff back right. I've done worst for other shows and I can't wait to see it! Currently seated. Woot. Also met the nicest woman in line today :)
I rushed yesterday the 12th, got in line at 7:30 and was 4th in line. Line ended up getting to about 10 people deep, but I think I got the last right box rush tix. View can be a little challenging from the box, but I saw plenty of the action
I haven't checked out the rush lately, but with it becoming rather cold in the city, my advice would be to just check stubhub a few hours before the performance. Especially for a weeknight show.
I got tickets last week for like $45 with fees for Tuesday's show. If I'd held out a little longer, I probably could have gotten them cheaper, but still. The stubhub pickup is just a few blocks down from the theater, very easy to get to. I bought mine around 5:30, picked them up around 6, and was at the show at 7. Even for tonight's show, there are already some at around $50, and the closer to showtime you're willing to wait, the lower it will be.
Thanks for the tip, labellaragazza1! I just got 2 tickets on SubHub for tomorrow (Wed) night. Side Orchestra, Row Q, for $79 including fees. So much better than waiting in the cold for equally priced rush tickets!

Do NOT rush!!!
Buy $10 tickets on StubHub.
The lowest current ticket price on Stubhub for tomorrow night's performance is $50. With fees, it's $62.50. Why are you intentionally giving people bad information?

That's ridiculous. When you tell someone "buy $10 tickets on Stubhub", you are implying there are $10 tickets on stubhub she can buy. If they are not available now, you should have qualified your answer with suggesting she check tomorrow to see what the price on stubhub is and certainly not telling her do NOT rush not having any idea what the prices will actually be..
I got StubHub tickets for $30 about an hour before the show. I agree, don’t waste your time in the rush line. Just know you’ll need to wait until close to the show to get a ticket.
And I agree, it’s not worth full price. $30 was my limit b/c I had to print and get to the theatre. If you can wait until 30 mins before, even better (PM me for more tips on how).
abd before chuckydisc gets mad at my post... I am not guaranteeing availability, but I have seen this pattern often.

Get a clue dude and stop writing!
It's a hour before the matinee. Where are the $10 seats on Stubhub? Great advice!

Once again ... STOP WRITING!
OP wanted evening, so your useless comment is moot.

There weren't any for the evening show either. I'll stop writing when you stop constantly trolling the rush threads giving people bad advice and bullying them.
Very late posting but figured I'd give my experience. I went to ticket window on a Friday back in November when it first opened and although couldn't get in was able to buy a single for the next day, GREAT seat. I LOVED the show. I hadn't laughed that hard in long time.
I can see how some people may not like this show. I was traveling solo and if my wife had gone, I honestly don't think she would have liked it. Than again, she loved Phantom and is seeing Love Never Dies next month in Boston and I hated Phantom and am happy I don't have to see Love Never Dies. My point is that while some show appeal to a broader audience, I feel like shows like Meteor Shower (and Phantom) don't appeal to everybody.

That is a blatant lie and wait till the libel laws catch up to you.

Oh, no mister. Not the libel laws. Anything but that. That's even worse than being sent to The Pit of Misery. ROTFLMAO. Nice spelling of blatant btw.
