From Telecharge:

Moonstruck, that classic, over the top tale of romance and family, is going to be celebrated at the Music Box Theatre by a decidedly starry cast on November 10. A company of notables including Steve Buscemi, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Patti LuPone, John Turturro, Stevie Van Zandt, and more will revisit the operatic courtship of Loretta Castorini and Ronny Cammareri on the streets of Brooklyn to benefit New York Stage and Film. This will be a singular event. Moonstruck has never been performed on stage, and a cast like this invites us to experience the lunacy, the exhilaration, the magic of one of wildest romances in film history.

New York Stage and Film (SAF) is a vital incubator for artists developing new work for theater, dance, television, and film. For 40 years, SAF has developed over 1,000 stories that have won every major award including the Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, Academy Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Obie Award. The One-Night-Only Benefit of Moonstruck supports SAF’s Summer Season at Marist University, year-round New York City Programming, Developing Dance Narrative Programming, Residencies for individuals and colleague organizations, Awards & Fellowships, Apprenticeships for emerging technicians and administrators, and audience engagement

Cast

Irv/Raymond Cappomaggi | Steve Buscemi
Loretta Castorini | Rose Byrne
Ronny Cammareri | Bobby Cannavale
Crooner | Dez Duron
Rose Castorini | Patti LuPone
Cosmo Castorini | John Turturro

I'd love to go to this, but I don't know if I $380-600 want to go to this

Do they ever do Rush or lottery for these benefit things?

I don't think the terms "over the top", "lunacy", and "wildest" are good desriptions of MOONSTRUCK.

It still one of my favorite movies.

In fairness, "lunacy" at least makes for a decent pun ;)

Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale are partners in real life, so that's cute casting.

This is a dream come true for me. Moonstruck is my favorite movie of all time.  I just loved John Patrick Shanley’s Oscar winning screenplay. I cannot wait for this cast! Silvio as the putz Johnny is brilliant. Just got my tickets. Very excited.

I lived on Sackett Street for ten years and purchased my bread at the real Cammareri’s bakery. Was there during the filming so it really holds a special place in my heart.

Is it Benjamin Dryer who said it’s actually quite a wild movie it’s just played so straight you never notice? I love Moonstruck but it is in fact wild and strange. That’s what makes it fun! It just also happens to have real heart and emotion on top of the wildness.

Cage’s performance alone requires embracing a sort of craziness. I have a friend who has never been able to finish it because she finds his performance so off putting.

They did this in California last year. Great material. Should be a play.
Not every movie needs to be a musical. Would hate to see the "snap out of it" dance number.

I do not own the Criterion edition but this and Doubt are the only movies that have a permanent spot on my DVR and will never be deleted.
