Saw a movie promo and couldn't make out a lot of people but it seems like they will be doing "Listen" from DREAMGIRLS and "Cell Block Tango" from CHICAGO as well as several memorable songs from movies.
I love these Variety Specials!!
I can't wait to see John Williams, Tony Bennett AND Jennifer Hudson perform the "Cell Block Tango" from CHICAGO!
Definitely Tivo material.
Thanks for posting this!! sounds like it will be good=-)
I read Queen performs "Big Spender".
That must have been it - "Big Spender" and not "Cell Block Tango"

Did they really just have listed "Saturday Night Fever" as being released in 1983??
Yeah...I noticed that, too.....it was '77, right?

Yeah. Weird. "Staying Alive", the sequel, was in 1983.
I guess it's easy to get them confused...hah.
I hadn't really been impressed before, but usher doing "singin' in the rain" was pretty nifty.
It's probably unpopular to say but I don't like Jennifer Hudson's singing. She carries on with the habit most of today's pop diva's have - wailing. Instead of studying the quiet, intricate nuance's of a song, she, like her contemporaries, wail and belt through it. I would like her more if she toned it down. It's the same reason that I can't appreciate Aretha Franklin but it's kept her career going all these years so what's my opinion worth.

I completely agree with you. Jennifer Hudson always sounds like she's trying waaaaay too hard. No one denies the girl can belt. And belting has its place.... sometimes. But there is much more to a song than belting.

Oh come on...I'm so sick of Queen Latifah.
Those girls behind her are extremely attractive though....
Whoever put her in that pantsuit should be SHOT!!! DID SHE USE A MIRROR? omg. poor Queenie.
I thought Queen did a great job.
I was shocked "Springtime for Hitler" wasn't in the comedy moments montage.
Oops- I started a thread on the Off-Topic board. Didn't see this one- sorry. See comments on that too. mom
Eve was awesome.
I was really impressed by the whole thing. I thought Usher was great. No one really bombed out.
