Not bad. Perhaps this will encourage MTV to record future shows...

Add more to that number as it is airing again twice tomorrow, Thursday November 22, 2007: Thanksgiving Day.
There aren't any other shows that fit the MTV demographics for them to film and broadcast. The closest one would be XANADU, but that demographic is more of a VH-1 demographic. After the film-version of HAIRSPRAY, I would that show could somehow fit MTV's audience, but not completely.
LEGALLY BLONDE: The Musical, completely fits the MTV bill. From the music, the choreography, the plot to the style of the show. All this I'm sure was looked into before considering their investment in filming it in the first place.

Are the producers being paid for the number of views?
But 12 million? Pretty good!
Spring Awakening fits the demo, but I don't see that ever happening.
Very awesome.
And if they put SPRING AWAKENING on MTV, I would SO be there.

Having more Broadway shows on MTV and other tv channels, will expose alot of young people to it....when they might not have done it on their own. It's a win-win situation. Will it come on dvd?
Can't wait to see COMPANY on PBS.

Spring Awakening is too risque for mtv
Too risque? For a channel that airs "A Shot at love with Tila Tequila", "Next" and countless other reality shows about over-sexed college-aged students??
MTV's rebroadcast today is a karaoke version.

The karaoke version is a little distracting, haha!

One of the head honcho's at MTV really didn't like Spring Awakening. A friend of mine (who does a lot of those "I Love the 80's" and "100 Greatest Hollywood..." stuff) said that they were apparently considering it, but the guys at MTV just didn't like the show.
Just what I heard through the grapevine

I heard Grease was in the running and they REALLY wanted Wicked but there was no way the producers would allow that!
I hope MTV doesn't do any more shows. Legally Blonde was the first, and I want it to be the only one. Mabey VH1 could do a show.
RADIO CITY is next, that's what I hear.

Grease would work. I mean, hell, it was cast with people from TV, and MTV aired the re-runs of the show, so why not? It has nothing to loose. Maybe they can air the last show of the revival - when it eventually closes (hopefully in a year).
Part of wishes they'd do a reality show about Broadway actors/actresses, but at the same time, i wouldn't want them to trivialize the industry I'm trying to get into.
Even my 6 year old cousin is amused by it!
If they record that criminal, awful, lazy production of Grease, I'm going to stop watching TV.

I actually wouldn't mind if they recorded Grease - I'll admit that I saw it, and wasn't too impressed but it was fun too uh.. watch. But it seems like it be perfect for MTV.
I watched LB again today and it's really grown on me since seeing it the first time it aired.

I think right now MTV is just trying to work with Legally Blonde. They still have 1 or 2 more airings left in the contract and I have heard they are going to do a Grease-like show for the next Elle Woods (not sure if that is for the tour, or after LBB leaves).
I have a feeling that, unless they were able to get Wicked, MTV wouldn't do another show for a while. I think they really want to find the right shows for their demographic. One little slip-up, and they could lose millions of viewers because they're airing too many "boring Broadway shows." I know. It seems impossible that anyone would ever say that, but trust me, there are people who don't like Broadway. Scary, right?
Just imagine the run it would have if all 12 million had bought tickets.

I must admit the show is growing on me. I LOVE "Take It Like A Man" which has an utterly haunting melody. And Orfeh's wonderful, zany performance. ("Woops, sorry back to ELLLLLLLE....")
"HERE, have a couple cards!!"
If they're planning to record more shows, I hope they at least improve the camera work. Whoever on here has said that "Legally Blonde" was shot too much like an awards show is absolutely right--flying crane shots are insanely distracting. They should take a cue from the shows PBS films.
I think the way it was shot fit the show its self and the audience it was going after.
