I'll be there tomorrow - using the credit I got last year when I got snowed out of the In The Heights concert. I know Jessie is from Chicago, and The Goodman is doing a production of The Music Man this Summer, I wonder if she'd consider taking the role.

First of all, THE BOWS. I can not and will not spoil it for you, but good lord.
THE MUSIC MAN was simply delightful. Norm is so charismatic as Harold and Jessie is perfectly grounded and protective as Marian. Their duets together are enough for one to melt. Rosie was actually great as her mother with a old warmth to her.
I really loved the projections. They're stock pictures, but they build the atmosphere too.

I'm going tomorrow (flying in from Chicago).
DC folks: Any advice on where to eat pre-show? No preference on type of cuisine.

Campono is right on the grounds of the Kennedy Center:

There is also a cafeteria on the top level of the Kennedy Center.
I also like Meiwah (Chinese) which is at the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and M Street NW. About a 15 minute walk from the KC.

It is :) Yup, everyone (including Rosie) came out. It took Norm, Jessie and John 30 minutes to come out though, so head's up

Super excited! How crowded was the stagedoor? Did they take selfies?
MUSIC MAN at KC Performance Thread#15
Posted: 2/7/19 at 11:58amYup they all did! And it wasn’t bad at all. But a celeb hunter came for Rosie, which was disappointing

Posted: 2/7/19 at 8:50pmIt looks sublime. That Magritte-like effect of the night sky is simple and beautiful. This looks like it could kill in NYC.

I'll be there for the Saturday matinee -- can't wait! This is one of my all-time favorites.

What a special night. I repeat, Jessie, spend the Summer in Chicago and do the Goodman production! I have such fond memories of performing in this show many moons ago and "curtain call surprise" completely brought me to tears of joy. What a great small but mighty (and diverse) cast.

As someone who is depressed about the fact that she's not going to see this, can someone put the curtain call surprise under a spoiler tag for me?

Me too. I played Tommy Dijilas in a pro-am production so have been following this with great interest. Eventually we all will get to see this wonderful surprising curtain call bow.
Perhaps we could get creative and start guessing. It has to involve the train somehow or 76 trombones.

The 76 trombone bows was the only good part of the Broadway revival. Better not be a copy of that, not that original.
