I am so looking Forward to this Show on my next trip Out There. Couple the NY Casting with things I have read about the London Production----Looks like an Amazing Night of Theatre!
(To think anyone would be excited about show entailing the Fall of a Corporation---Just Makes Me Smile)
Will she sing in it? I love her.
This is great! She even looks quite a bit like Roe! Awesome casting!
Katurian2, that's impossible, considering Claudia Roe isn't a real person. She's an amalgamation of several different female executives who worked at Enron.
Mazzie does look a lot like Amanda Martin-Brock, one of the women who was particularly influential in the formation of the character.
So with both Norbert and Mazzie, you have two of the best voices, but in a play...?
so?
So with both Norbert and Mazzie, you have two of the best voices, but in a play...?
...a play with music...
I think we can all safely assume that this is the Carrie revival incognito.
The one play this season I've had absolutely no desire to see has just become the one play this season I MUST see.
The character is smart and very sexy - Marin Mazzie to a tee. I'm sure she'll do better than the current actress in London who doesn't manage to do much with the part.
"so?"
I'm just saying it would be nice if this was a musical. No need to get snippy...
^ I think that's exactly why actors who are more well-known for doing musicals like doing straight plays. They can act even when they don't have to sing.

Marin and Norbert are incredible musical theatre actors, BUT I don't think it's a waste for them at all to do a straight play!
I saw all the Bobbys in Speed-the-Plow and Norbert was definitely my favorite...and this is coming from somebody who could listen to the Last Five Years cast recording all day.
I'm excited for this show!!

Supposedly this this will be anything but your everyday play and the buzz is it will most likely take home every Tony it gets nominated for. I'm more of a musical person but for this I'm very excited.

I'm more of a "musical person" myself, and am also very excited for this one, bwaybug85.
@somethingwicked
haha- thanks. That's who I was thinking of. It's been a few years since I've watched "Smartest Guys in the Room."
