I just don't care for Cantone. He is fine in Sex and the City but outside of that he really grates on my nerves. He was the only thing I didn't like in "Assassins".
I think he is pretty spot on in this interview also. I am thinking the kissing of Haye's a** was his response to the statement that Hayes made. I kind of get what Hayes may have meant but the way he put it made it sound like he did some big service to the community.

True, I'm not for gay-on-gay violence...verbal or otherwise.
HOWEVER, I'm a tad sick and tired of these "celebrities" who are hush hush when they're riding high on the hog and then want to "surprise" us (aka, get their names in the papers again) with this lofty announcement. How about you have the balls to do it while you're on the top? let people know that you can ACTUALLY be a successful homosexual. It's just frustrating and kind of cowardly. Don't use it as a platform to re-introduce yourself to the public.

Crapping on people for finally coming out because they didn't do it on YOUR timeline, they did it on their's is wrong. Very wrong. In my opinion.
Don't worry, you are still allowed your opinion. I just think your opinion helps us in NO way and is the wrong way to look at things. Mario said it--he is still going to make a major impact (as if making an impact is his responsibility).

As far as Ricky is concerned, I understand Cantone's answer to the question "why, now? we knew" - I believe his base in his home country did not know or did not want to know. strong catholics and religious people. Perhaps it is true why he held out so long and why some will never ever believe it.

I don't think it matters whether people "already knew" or not in their own minds. When the person comes out and makes the statement is what counts.
I love Mario, btw. He's hilarious and a really nice guy. He and Joy are "like bff's" lol!

In a perfect world everyone would be out, actors wouldn't be typecast and their careers wouldn't suffer but the world ain't perfect. Everyone has their own timeline and as silly as I feel it was for Sean Hayes to ever allude that he may be straight it's his life , he's out now and good for him.
When I see gays fighting amongst each other (or women or African-Americans) I can't help but think 'we're just doing their work for them!'. We finally are making some inroads and all we can do is attack each other? Isn't that how the powers that be have always controlled groups who were different than themselves- divide and conquer.

Yes, that's what I meant indeed. I think Mario is kissing his ass by saying that Sean contributed so much to the gay community because he played Jack. I think maybe he "somehow" contributed, but the statement did sound full of himself.
I'm very glad that a gay man doesn't trash the other 2 gay men coming out and I'm all for gays being together fighting for our rights and I wish even gay men were nicer to each other and wouldn't compete and be catty, etc.
