Marriott Marquis Theatre

I'm thinking about seeing Follies next month and I was just wondering what this theatre was like? I've read some reviews and they said it was very hard to find the box office, proper entrance, etc. since it's part of the hotel. I've also read that there is basically no leg room in that theatre. I'm about 6ft, so that wouldn't be good news for me (I suffered at the Booth Theatre). Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

The theatre is one of the newest ones on Broadway, so the leg room isn't bad at all (and I'm 6'6").

The theatre is located on the 3rd floor of the hotel, but you have to enter in the pedestrian walkway on 45th (Across from the Booth) and take the escalator up.
I don't remember where the Box Office moved to.

I personally love the theater, just no hits have gone in it to occupy the space.

In order to enter the theater, you must enter the hotel and you can take an elevator to the 3rd floor or the first escalator takes you right there.

I'm 6'0" too and I haven't had a problem in the theater, well in the orchestra I didn't as that's only where I've sat.

The box office is now located across from the Lunt-Fontanne Theater underneath the new marquee they have. It is pretty easy to spot.

It's a huge theatre. I don't remember the legroom situation but it's very new as theatres go.

YES! The box office has been HIDDEN! It is no longer on the street though that one could reopen when the show starts up, I suppose. Walk through the passway from Broadway in mid-block or enter the drive-through behind the building fronting Broadway. Ask the outside valet/carhop desk and they'll point you inside. You'll find another concierge desk toward the back of the hotel and they'll point you North inside the building and there's a little glass office where the box office is on the ground floor, very obscure and with no opening to the outside of the building.

I hope that helps!

How is center orchestra row B? I'm sure it would be too close for a lot of people, but I usually love to be as close as possible.

I sat two rows behind that, row D center, for Come Fly Away last year and they were very good seats.

I love the theater. It is comfortable and sight lines are terrific.

I saw Damn Yankees, Drowsy Chaperone and Wonderland here. And yes - the box office is in a weird hidden area.

45th. Directly across from Shubert Alley.

Where are the two box offices located and why do they have two? It seems like they would want the box office closer to the actual entrance of the theatre, not on a whole separate floor.

I was under the impression that the box office was its own little space directly across from the Lunt. At least that is where I saw it (or thought I saw it) for both Come Fly Away and Wonderland.

The box office used to be directly in Times Square, right under the actual marquee, but Wonderland (or perhaps Come Fly Away - I know White Christmas had the old location) moved it to where the actual entrance is for the theatre.

The stagedoor is right across from the Minskoff sort-of alley thing. (Pretty hidden, next to the Broadway merch store or whatever it is underneath the Marquis as well)

Y'all are making this Marquis box office search a lot more complicated than it actually is.

Stand on 46th Street (not on Broadway). Look at the marquee for the Marquis:

See those short concrete posts under the marquee? Walk through them/walk under the marquee. This will be on your left:

That door is the outside entrance to the box office.

After you leave the box office take the escalator up one flight. Now you're at the entrance to the theatre.

^ Do you happen to have any pictures of the interior of the theatre? It is so hard to find pictures of this theatre, and I am curious about it!

They really should just reopen their other box office on Broadway.

After going upstairs and being confused, I found the box office on the ground floor where the above pics show it is. The signs there are not helpful. I like the Marquis. I sat in the next to the last row of the theater for Drowsy Chaperone and saw everything and had a blast. I am sitting mid mezz for FOLLIES only because I got the discount.

The current discount doesn't cover the dates you are requesting. It is not uncommon for discounts to only cover 1 or 2 months --hoping that regular full price ticket sales pick up and they won't need to offer any discount. You just have to keep checking the usual sites to see if/when they release another code.

It's a huge theatre. I don't remember the legroom situation but it's very new as theatres go.

While it's larger by Broadway comparisons, I'd hardly call the Marquis "huge." I think it's capacity is just over 1,600.

I have not been in the Marquis since seeing 9 to 5, but for that show, I sat in row D and did not have any leg room issues. I am 6'3".
