Does anyone know why the London Cast Recording hasn't been posted on ITunes? Are they planning a Broadway Recording or are their plans to put it up?

Posted: 1/31/07 at 3:30pmiTunes isn't slow in general. It's the studio's job to sign contracts and offer their music on iTunes. If the London cast studio saw iTunes as a profit center, they could have had Poppins up there in less than a week from when they started the process.

Posted: 1/31/07 at 4:32pmi don't know, I remember when the original Broadway recording of "Les Mis" was not offered on iTunes. I sent in a few request sheets and, what do you know, it showed up on there within about 2 or 3 weeks.

Posted: 1/31/07 at 4:40pmthey don't have them anymore. I have a Mac (just saying because I don't know if you have a PC) and the older versions of iTunes contained request sheets that were sent to the company if you wanted to fill them out.

For what it's worth, when I saw the show in New York a couple of weekends ago, the person selling the London Cast CDs at the theater said there are no plans to make a Broadway Cast Recording.

A spokesperson from Disney Theatricals confirmed some time ago that there is not going to be an Original Broadway Cast Recording of MARY POPPINS made. Period.
The Original London Cast Recording will be the sole recording for the English speaking production. Future international productions will have their own language cast recording.
